1. Shedding Light On Homemade Watercolor Christmas Cards

The lights and colors of Christmas decorations are so joyful! I love how Norine uses watercolor in this card to capture the feel of colorful glows reflecting on the Christmas tree.

Watercolor-Christmas-Images-Norine-Lights2

Norine created this lovely card with the String of Lights stamp set and some skillful watercoloring. This card largely shows off the beautiful freehanded blending that one can accomplish with watercolors, but Norine also used embossing powder to help with some detailed work in the light bulbs. By embossing the stamped image, she was able to easily corral the watercolor in order to create a more intense color in the light bulbs themselves. She finished the card off with the sentiment from the stamp set and heat embossed it as well.

Tt-separator

Hello friends! Norine here, back again with some cards that feature the adorable Helen and Harry the Hippos stamps and dies. All of my hippos this month got a fun fabric-styled coloring treatment. I felt like that made them look like cute stuffies and made them suitable for a baby card in particular, and sweet, fun cards in general.

Beautiful Blooming Branches Project Ideas

Do you live somewhere near flowering trees? One of the things I love about early springtime is visiting my mom and seeing all the fruit trees in bloom. She lives in central Washington which is covered in apple, cherry, pear and peach orchards. This month's Blooming Branches stamps and dies are based on a picture of a flowering apple tree, but you can color this stamp set to look like nearly any flowering tree. Check out these gorgeous cards to get some ideas about how to make some beautiful cards of your own!

Tt-separator

Hello crafty friends!

It’s Ana here today sharing a card I made with the beautiful Sending Roses Stamp Set and the matching Sending Roses Dies! They are part of the Greenhouse Society Collection of flower stamps and dies.

This newest Technique Tuesday floral addition took my breath away when I saw it! I love roses and all the beautiful colors they come in and I just couldn’t wait to color this gorgeous image!

For today’s card I decided to color the stamped roses in classic red.

To start, I stamped two rose images on Neenah Classic Crest 80 lb. cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Watercolor Stamped Rose Tutorial with Dana Kirby

Hey there, it's Julie! Today I'm happy to welcome Dana Kirby back to our blog. In this blog post, Dana shares her stamped rose watercolor tutorial. Dana used her watercolors and the Sending Roses stamps and the matching Sending Roses dies to create such a sweet card! (These stamps and dies are the May additions to the Greenhouse Society Collection.)

Tt-separator

Hi Friends! It is Dana here today sharing a card using the gorgeous Sending Roses Stamp Set from the May release.

Photo-May-11 -3-18-42-PM

I started my card by stamping my rose image in black ink and water coloring it with a pale blue and green watercolor. I used a lot of water, and just kept adding color until I got my desired look. Next, I used the Sending Roses dies to die cut my rose image. I set this aside and began working on my card design.

Photo-May-11 -3-18-58-PM

I started by die cutting the large Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Die from light gray cardstock for my center label. Next, I die cut Sending (included with the Sending Roses die set) from medium gray cardstock. I attached this to my label and stamped the rest of my sentiment (lots of love from the Sending Roses stamp set) underneath. I also added my rose image to my label at this time.

Photo-May-11 -3-18-51-PM

To finish my card, I used an aqua piece of patterned paper to create my card panel. I attached this to a medium gray mat before attaching it to my A2 card base. Lastly, I attached my label to my card front with foam adhesive.

Don't you just love this Sending Roses stamp set and dies? The image is gorgeous and the sentiments are definitely some of my favorites!

Dana's card is so beautiful, right? And her rose stamp tutorial using watercolors makes it so easy to replicate this card. If you aren't into watercolors, you might like my tutorial about how to color and add highlights to these stamped roses using alcohol markers. Or use the Sending Roses stamps and dies with any or all of your favorite coloring mediums. I hope Dana's card and these tutorials inspire you to make some beautiful stamped roses of your own!
