Alligator Card Ideas by Allison Arbour
Hello, Julie here! Today I'm happy to bring you a new blog post from Allison Arbour. She's showing us how she made this super cute card using the Alligators & Crocodiles Stamp Set, the matching Alligators & Crocodiles dies, and the Stars on the Border dies.
Here's Allison's Alligator Card Tutorial!
First, start by blending distress oxide inks in colours Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron on 2 separate pieces of white cardstock.
Use the Stars on the Border Die to cut through from each sheet. You will be using the negative cut from this die to create the bite marks but be sure to save the positive image and all the stars for another card or project.
Trim the negative sheets (the bite marks) to the size you want to fit your card base.
I positioned for placement then stamped my sentiment in black ink and heat embossed in clear.
Using foam tape on the back of the bite mark sheets, I adhered them to the card base.
I coloured the alligator in copics using colours YG23 and YG21. I then used the matching die to die cut out the alligator. The birds were coloured in copics and die cut as well, using the colours R22,R20,RV63,RV55,YR30,YR31,Y19
Foam tape was used on the back of the alligator and birds and adhered to the card base.
And voila! Here is Allison's finished card! I love that she used the negative space from the Stars on the Border die for this card. If you missed this month's blog hop, you probably also missed Allison's other card where she used the positive space (the star border). Here's a link to that alligator card on her blog. Finding new ways to make the "scraps" into something beautiful on their own is a great challenge that can bring out your creative side! What kinds of "scrap" projects have you made?
