Hi, all!

We are one day closer to the next release of stamps and dies from Technique Tuesday. 

There's an adorable new critter walking into the Technique Tuesday stamp line-up in November, plus there's a stamp set you are going to love making calendars with. Let's get on with today's sneak peeks!

Hi, friends!

We're one day closer to the next release of stamps and dies from Technique Tuesday, and I'm here again with a few sneak peeks at the new goods. On your mark. Get set. Get ready to cheer! 

Today's sneak peeks are sure to make you smile. There's a pretty flower, plus something that is tasty and delicious and a staple during the Winter months. Let's do this.

Does Wintertime mean it's Hot Cocoa time in your world? Do you crave peppermint drinks? You are going to love this new stamp set that features these delicious drinks.

The stamp set also features a host of sentiments, making it possible to make a number of different cards with it. 
Classic stamper who loves to color? You are going to love the latest installment in our Greenhouse Society. This pretty stamp set features a Wintertime flower that is so fun to color. There are also a couple sentiments included with this stamp set that make it perfect for making holiday cards.

November Release Sneak Peek #1

Hi, friends!

It's that time again! It's Sneak Peek time, and I'm way excited to give you the first look at some of our new stamps and dies that will debut on Nov. 1st at Technique Tuesday! 

Here in Oregon, the leaves are falling off the trees, the nights are feeling chillier and the stores have been putting out Christmas decorations, warmer clothes and space heaters. Winter is definitely coming! Today's sneak peeks feature a new stamp set that definitely has a toasty Winter feeling about it. 

This new stamp set features artwork that screams Winter. There's a puffy jacket, a fuzzy scarf, a knitted glove and sock, a winter hat and the cutest snow boot you've ever seen. If that's not enough, there's also some snowflakes and lovely snowflake border. Whether you are a card maker or scrapbooker, you are going to love stamping these items on your Winter-themed paper crafted projects. 

The stamp set also features some fun sentiment stamps look great on cards and scrapbook pages! I, myself, am particularly fond of the phrase in the second peek. It's a fun one... don't you agree?

Introducing the Bow on the Border Crafting Die

Hi, friends!

Isn't it fun when you get something that is all wrapped up with a ribbon and a bow! Whether it's for a birthday, anniversary, graduation, wedding, or Christmas, the Bow on the Border Crafting Die will let you add that special feeling to your next card. Here's a quick video introducing this new die. Plus check out the super-cool Bow on the Border projects from the Technique Tuesday Design Team! I think you are going to love all the crafty possibilities!

Do you ever wait until the last minute to put together a birthday or anniversary card? Here's a quick fix for that situation.

1. Make a white card base that is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score it.
2. Unfold the card base. Use the Bow on the Border Crafting Die along the left edge of the card.
3. Cut out 3 different strips of pattern paper. Adhere two of them to the inside of your card. And adhere the other piece to the outside of the front of your card. (If you want to get fancy, add a few stitch lines with your sewing machine after you've adhered them to your card.)
4. Then add a stamped sentiment.

Want to make a bunch of Christmas cards? We've got a recipe for that too. You are going to love this.

1. Make a white card base that is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score it.
2. Unfold the card base. Use the Bow on the Border Crafting Die along the left edge of the card. Save the little white pieces from the inside of the bow.
3. Run the Bow on the Border Crafting Die through your die cutting machine again. (Heather used red cardstock. You may want to use green, blue or some other color.)
4. Put the ribbon pieces and bow pieces back into your white card. Use some tape to keep them in place.
5. Cut out a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the inside of the card.
6. Add a sentiment.
7. Repeat each of these steps to make as many cards as you need.

If you want to get the most cards for your time and money, do the same card design but use different colors of paper. For example, Heather was able to use the white ribbon and bow pieces that come out of card shown above, and put them into the red card-base shown below. And similarly, she put all the red ribbon and bow pieces that she cut out of this card base back into the card shown above. How fun!

Good Meows! The Cat Lover's Blog Hop is Happening Now!

Hi, friends! 

Have you heard the good meows? The annual 2018 Cat Lovers Blog Hop is in full swing and Technique Tuesday is one of this year's sponsors. 

This fun little blog hop features lots and lots feline inspired stamping projects. To play, all you need to do get your paws inky, make a project featuring a cat, share it and link it up to the blog hop on Her Peaceful Garden. The hop runs through Oct. 27th. At the end of the hop, the hop's organizers will be giving away some prizes, including a Technique Tuesday gift certificate.

We couldn't let this fun blog hop pass without sharing a few meow-velous projects of our own that feature some of our favorite Technique Tuesday's cat stamps.

When it comes to cards, this one by Jill Dewey Hawkins is the purr-fect one to send a friend to let her know you are thinking of her. Jill created her sweet scene with the Kyle the Cool Cat stamps and dies. Don't you just love the soft colors she colored Kyle and his mouse friend with?

Here's another fun card created by Birgit Edbom with the Kyle the Cool Cat stamps. This card, too, would be a fun card to send a friend or a loved one. 

Kyle isn't the only cat around Technique Tuesday. There's Leonardo the Lion as well. 

I'd be lion if I didn't say how much I like this card by Ashley Harris. Leonardo stands tall on the card, thanks to Ashley stamping and die-cutting him and then adhering him to the card with foam tape. The stamped hearts add a sweet finishing touch to the card. 

Leonardo isn't just meant to be used on cards for friends. He looks meowy nice on birthday cards too.

You'll also find a cat  in our Planner Cat stamp set. This little guy was drawn to be used on planner pages, but he sure looks cute on cards too. This one by Jill Dewey Hawkins is paw-some!

Jill's stamped patterned paper looks wonderful! Imagine creating one like it to use on a scrapbook page instead. It'd even be fun to make a stamped paper to use to wrap a gift for a your favorite cat loving friend!

Creating Contrast with Watercolor Markers and the Luscious Grapes Stamps!

Hello, Julie here! In today's video, I will show you how to use watercolor markers to add contrast to images in the new Luscious Grapes stamp set. These new fancy-schmancy watercolor markers were a gift for my birthday. I love them and am excited to show you how to use them!

1. I started with Canson watercolor paper and stamped the cluster of grapes using a quick drying, waterproof ink.

2. I wanted to make the grapes be the color of Concord grapes, which is mostly blue with a hint of purple. So I started out with the blue marker and added a swoosh of color in the bottom of each of these grapes. Then I used a little water to spread the blue throughout the grape. Once I had the blue distributed, I went back in and added just a tiny spot of purple for the highlight. And as usual, I want back and forth between the colors. On some of the grapes I added more of the blue to intensify that color. You can get this great sort of gradient going, because you’re doing essentially wet-on-wet water coloring.

3. Once all the grapes were done, I started in on the leaves. I used the yellow marker to add a base layer. I wanted an autumn leaf color scheme, like the grapes were just ready to be picked, so the colors I used were generally warm. I just went around the edges and along the veins of each leaf with yellow. I didn't want to overwhelm the leaves, just give them a yellow base with a little color everywhere. I used my brush to spread the yellow around to make some nice gradients. There’s a lot of detail within the leaves that could get lost, so I tried to make sure that where the leaves overlapped, the bottom leaf was a bit darker than the part of the top leaf that’s covering it. The darker areas provide a little more contrast which makes the leaf details a bit easier to see.

4. Next I went in with the orange watercolor marker. In my set that was Cadmium Red, which was the closest to orange that I had. I picked a few spots to make reddish orange... mostly in areas I wanted to make sure had some additional contrast as well as more intensity. I went back and forth between the orange and yellow, and used water to move those colors around. I planned ahead to put green near the reddish orange areas on the leaves that were underneath. Since red and green are complementary colors I knew that the green would make those areas seem even redder which would help make those areas pop.

5. Next I used the red watercolor marker. In my set of makers this was named Alizarin Crimson as opposed to the Cadmium Red hue, which is a little bit more orange. I used the Alizarin Crimson to add a little more intensity to the areas that were already headed in the reddish-orange direction.

6. Next I added a bit of Sap Green to a few spots. This is where you need to be a bit careful. Because red and green are complementary colors, (which means they’re on opposite sides of the color wheel), they will create a neutral color when mixed. I made sure I didn't add any green to areas that already had red in them. I knew that if I did mix them, they would turn a muddy brown.

7. Next, I used a couple brown shades on the stem and vine areas. I used the lighter color along the top of the stem. Then I used water to spread the color out a little. Because it was pretty wet, the dark brown went in like a dream and spread itself out a little bit. By going back and forth with the brush and the markers, you can get the colors to go where you want them to be.

And here is my final piece! I went back in and added more color in a few places. I added some darker green on top of the lighter green to add contrast in one or two spots, but only very sparingly.

There are so many amazing craft projects you can make the Thanksgiving stamps and dies. Here's a few thank you cards to fuel your creative juices. 

Colorful leaves are synonymous with Fall, and this card Tobi Crawford made is on point. Make your own leafy card by die-cutting several leaves with the Fall Leaves cutting dies from cardstock and then applying color to them with ink or watercolors. Want to give them a little texture? Add some glitter or Glossy Accents or splatters of white paint to them. You could even simply crinkle them up. 

Don't limit yourself to using die-cut leaves on your next card. Follow Daniela Dobson's lead and create a card that combines die-cut leaves with leaves stamped with the Fall Favorites stamp set.

Make a card with a wreath of leaves on it like Tonya Dirk did with the I Am Thankful stamp set. Consider using the card to tell your best friend or a loved one you are thankful for them being in your life. 

Treat your favorite chef (or the sweet soul who makes your Thanksgiving dinner) to an adorable stamped card like this one by Jill Dewey Hawkins. You can easily make a background paper like Jill's with the Chef Owl stamps. Simply ink up the owl and stamp her again and again on cardstock.

A Whale-y Adorable Christmas Card from Emily

Hi, everyone!

"Emily here today, and I have a super fun holiday card that was made with Wendell the Whale and some other Technique Tuesday stamp sets. 

Imagine my delight when I discovered that the hat from Dear Santa was perfectly proportioned to fit on Wendell. Isn't he so cute as Santa? I was able to combine sentiments from both sets to create a unique one for the card.

The two big fish are from Olive the Octopus and the four little fish are from Sassy Love Your Guts. I love that I was able to find multiple fish in different sizes from other sets to use with Wendell. The gorgeous waves were made using the On the Waves Border Die.
