5 Ideas for Simon & Sandy Seahorse, plus Free Card Sketches

Hi, friends!

Looking for some inspiration for the Simon & Sandy Seahorse stamp set?

Haven't seen the set yet? These animal stamps are sure to make you smile. With two large seahorses, plus a small starfish, baby seahorse and tiny jellyfish, you can make all kinds of stamped scenes. Plus you make handmade cards appropriate for a number of occasions with the nine sentiment stamps included in the set.

Here are five creative ways to use the stamps, courtesy of the Technique Tuesday Design Team. (Want a better look at these projects? Click on the photos to see them on our website.)

Use watercolors to paint a background for seahorses (and their friends) to swim in. Kick your scene up a notch by adding some drops of "water" with Glossy Accents. Don't have any Glossy Accents? Use enamel dots, pearls or gems instead.

Stamp an underwater scene with the stamps... and resist adding any color with markers or pencils. Say what?! I know, it's hard not to add any color! Instead take a cue from Jill! Use the Bubbles on the Border die to add a border and some circles cut from a number of different cardstocks to the scene.

Make a shaker card! Matching dies typically are used so folks can cut mats to stamp on. Kymona Tracey's got a clever idea. Make a shaker instead! Use the matching mat die to cut a window for a shaker card and stamp a seahorse in the window! Consider filling your shaker with sequins, beads and, even, sand.

Make a wild underwater scene with by stamping a seahorse and lots of Simon & Sandy's friends onto cardstock. Be sure to use a waterproof ink so you can color in your critters with watercolors. Not sure if your ink pad is waterproof? Test it out on scratch paper first!

Color them in and then cut them out with the mats. You can give them extra dimension and make them look like they are popping off the card by adhering them to it with foam tape
