Mother's Day Card Inspiration For You + 20% Off!

Hi, everyone!

It's hard to believe Mother's Day is less than a month away, but it's not too early to get started on cards for the special women in your life. Whether you are celebrating your mother, sister, daughter, grandma or girlfriend, we've got some stamping inspiration for you! Read on for some great card making tips too!

Mother's Day Card Inspiration from Technique Tuesday ||

Use the Tulip on the Border die to create a card like this. Use ink, chalk or watercolors to add some color to the tulip stem and  stamp a sentiment next it. Another fun idea? Add a ribbon bow to the card!

Create a pretty card by stamping three flowers. Color them in with markers. Add some extra details to your flowers by using dark colors to add dots and lines to them! Finish your card with a sentiment for the special lady you intend on giving it to.

Create a card that reflects your Mom or Grandmother's interests. Does she love to garden? Create a card with flowers on it. Does she love to sew? Add some stitches with your sewing machine.

Is your mom not a fan of flowers? Consider making a card with hearts and butterflies on it instead!

Another idea? Create a general card with flowers on it. Open it up and simply add a Mother's Day sentiment to the inside of it.

How to Use the Border Dies for Making Cards

Hi, everyone!

Teri here today, and I've got a quick cardmaking tutorial for you!

I'm going to show you how to use Technique Tuesday's border dies: Cascading Hearts Border, Stars on the Border and Tulip on the Border.

These three dies were created with cardmakers in mind. With them, you can take a card and quickly cut a border out the side of it.

Here's how they work.

Start by cutting an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock. Fold it in half. This will serve as your card.

Open the card up and set a border die cutting side down along the side. Use removable sticky tape (or Washi tape) to hold the die in place.

Run the card through your manual die-cutting machine. You'll end up with something like this. (By the way, if you have a hard time getting the pieces to punch through your card, consider using a metal shim with it.)

Use your border card like it is or doctor it up!

Without-You-Hearts-Card-Teri-A-Technique-TuesdayConsider placing patterned paper or cardstock strips behind the border's open spaces. Another idea? Apply ink behind them or add some embellishments.

Very-Happy-Day-Stars-Card-Teri-A-Technique-TuesdayThe possibilities are endless!

Have you tried using these border dies on your cards? We'd love to see your projects. Share them with us on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to use the #TechniqueTuesday hashtag.
