A Fantastic Flamingo Card from Susan Opel

Hi all!

You are in for a treat! We've got special guest Susan Opel here today with a card created just for you!

First, meet Susan!

Susan OpelSusan, a Michigander at heart, currently lives in Utah. She is a former teacher turned craft-industry professional. She currently works for Simon Says Stamp! as their Social Media Engagement Coordinator and Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine as their Editor-In-Chief. Susan is a daughter, sister and aunt, a friend to many, a lover of Jesus, a fashionista, a fan of Kid Rock and someone who calls herself a crafty cheerleader. She is also a scrapbooker and cardmaker, and she regularly shares her work on Instagram and Facebook.

We are absolutely delighted to have her here today.

So check out this cool card Susan made!

Pink-Flamingo-Flock-Handmade-Card-Susan-O-Technique-TuesdayTalk about fun! Susan created a truly flock-tastic flock with the Floyd and Frannie Flamingo stamp set with the help of the masking technique!

Want to mask? Here's how. Stamp an image onto your card. Then stamp it a second time on a sticky note. Fussy cut the image out with your scissors, and you'll have a mask! Set the mask on your original stamped image and then stamp the image one more time. Remove the mask and you'll have two images. Repeat this process over and over until you have as many images as you want!

Another fun idea from Susan? Give your flamingos a little depth by using a gray marker or pencil to draw shadows at their feet. Great idea!

We hope you enjoyed Susan's card! Want to see more of her work? Be sure to check out her Instagram feed

Two Pretty Floral Cards from Michele Ferguson

Hi everyone!

It's another fun day on the Technique Tuesday blog. We're excited to bring you some stamped card inspiration from special guest Michele Ferguson!

Michele Ferguson

Michele is a talented card maker from Michigan, who is married to her very best friend! She has a knack for creating clean and graphic cards with a lot of style and a bit of sass! She blogs at I Card Everyone and can be found sharing her work and adventures on Instagram as well!

Michele created two lovely cards for you today. Both feature the Echinacea stamp set!

This first card is a real stunner!

Don't you love how she colored in the flowers? You can achieve a similar look by heat embossing the Echinacea on watercolor cardstock with white embossing powder and then coloring it in with watercolor markers. Use a water pen or wet paint brush to spread the color. Be sure not to apply too much water or the color will go over the lines.

This second card is equally stunning!

Ooh la la! This time, she stamped the flower onto the card base and then colored it in with markers. Check out that extra shading she added around the flower. It sure makes it stand out!

Another neat element to this card is the stacked sentiment. Michele combined a die-cut "thanks" (cut with the coordinating Echinacea cutting dies) and a sentiment from the stamp set. They look perfect together! Don't you agree?!

Let's give a big round of applause to Michele for creating these beautiful card for us to share you with you today! Thanks again, Michele!

A Owl-fully Important Question for You!

Hi, all!

This is Tam from Technique Tuesday here today with a little sneak peek.

Owl from Technique Tuesday //

I've spent the last few days I have been illustrating some whimsical little owl stamps. Can you believe there's already been 20 owl stamp sets released during the last year and a half?

We are thinking about not doing anymore owls after these and instead switch things up with something else next year. What would you like to see me illustrate? We'd love to hear from you!
