There are cards, and there are CARDS that make you ooh and ahh!
And today we are excited to be sharing a couple of the latter from Jill Hawkins! We're excited to have Jill as a guest designer for Technique Tuesday and will showing off some of her work here on Thursdays for the next few weeks.
Jill is a talented stamper and paper crafter with a knack for creative and clever designs. Here's a little bit about her in her own words.
"I am terrifically excited to be here, having fun with one of my favorites, Technique Tuesday! I completely adore a certain someone's style (*cough Teri cough*), so I about fell over when she hollered at me to make something!
I reside in Suburban Chicagoland, with my minimalist husband and our (unendingly) energetic son. Minimalism and crafting do not belong in the same sentence, let alone the same house. But I believe crafting supplies are the equivalent of power tools, right? Don’t ask me about my twenty different adhesives, and mum’s the word about your array of power drills. ;)
I have been into rubber stamps since I was a kid, but I kicked it up a notch with card making about 5-6 years ago. I was fortunate to have some published, and enjoy my late nights creating ever since. Though, I should definitely get more sleep. Maybe. Or not. ;)"
Hooray! We think are going to enjoy what she's made to share with you!
Talk about clever! Jill cut several leaves with the Garden Leaves dies and then arranged them to make a pleasant background. To keep the leaves from looking the same, she left the inner pieces in some of them and took them out of the others.
And how about all that gold? She added a touch of sparkle by cutting the leaves from gold paper.
Here's another fun card!
Jill made this card interesting by cutting several strings of hearts with the Heart Strings dies. Rather than using the entire string of hearts, she snipped off the ends of some of them. She also arranged them at different heights.
In need of a tiny heart for your next scrapbook page or card? Do what Jill did for her card. Cut a string of hearts with the Heart Strings dies and then use your scissors to snip off a heart.
Thanks for sharing your cards, Jill! Tune in next Thursday to see a few more cards from Jill!
PS. Are you near Pleasanton, California? Want to take a Technique Tuesday class in person? Nicole Peterson will be teaching Join the Gold Rush and Time to Celebrate classes at the Pleasanton Scrapbook Expo show in March. Both of these classes were designed by Technique Tuesday. Students learn fun techniques and receive a Technique Tuesday stamp set in their class kit.
