Saying Thanks, Holiday Style

Christmas may be over, but don't put away your Christmas stamps quite yet.

We've got a neat idea for you, courtesy of Tobi Crawford. Use them to make thank you cards for your holiday gifts!

Thanks Snowflake card by Tobi Crawford for Technique TuesdayTobi used created the pretty blue snowflake pattern paper for her card by heat embossing the snowflakes from the Ho Ho Ho stamp set cardstock.

Snowflake Thanks card by Tobi Crawford for Technique TuesdayThis card would have made a lovely Christmas card! But rather than pairing her paper with a holiday saying, she used a "thanks" word cut with the Say It - Thanks steel dies. This is a really great idea for getting a little extra mileage out of your holiday stamps after the holidays.

This card would be fun to recreate. Instead of creating a paper with snowflakes, you may want to consider using the Santa image for the Ho Ho Ho stamp set or the Gingerbread man or candy from the Christmas Calories stamp set. Simply pair them with a thank you sentiment and you'll have a handmade card perfect to send to a loved one or friend.

Story Card Sunday: Hello Twenty 16

Hello all!

It's almost the New Year, and this week's Story Card is perfect for tucking in or putting on the first page of your 2016 scrapbook!

Hello Twenty 16 Story Card from Technique TuesdayLet me show you how to make one like it.

Start by cutting a base card from cardstock and one from vellum with the Story Card dies. Cut "twenty" and a large "16" with the Twenty 15 - 16 dies. Cut a "hello" with the Say It - Hello dies.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique TuesdayTake the vellum base card. Use the small star in the Nested Stars dies to cut three stars out of it.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique TuesdayYou'll end up with something that looks like this.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique TuesdaySet the vellum card aside. Apply stripes of Washi tape to the cardstock base card.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique TuesdayApply the words to the vellum card. Adhere the vellum card to the cardstock base card. Worried about the adhesive showing? Be strategic! Try to place adhesive under where the words are and in places that aren't very obvious when looking at the Story Card.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique TuesdayFinish the Story Card by adhering gems, enamel dots of sequins in the middle of the stars.
