New Card: Wishing You a Season of Joy

Hi all!

Teri here, and I've brought some Christmas Card inspiration for you today.

Season of Joy card for TechniqueTuesday.comWondering how I created the scene here? Easy! I stamped the trees and snowflakes from the Season of Joy stamp set with water-based inks onto watercolor paper. And then I used a water pen to dilute and spread the colors out. The end result is that cool artsy look.

Season of Joy card from TechniqueTuesday.comThe sentiment is also from the Season of Joy stamp set. One of the things I love about the stamp set is that it's got a couple scripty words that you can use on their own. You can also use them with the "Wishing You" phrase.

Have you started making your Christmas cards yet? I'd love to see how you've used Technique Tuesday's clear stamps and steel dies on them. Be sure to share them on Technique Tuesday's Facebook page and Instagram. Don't forget to use the #TechniqueTuesday hashtag.

Story Card Sunday... on Monday: Love You to the Moon

Hi all!

Are you ready to learn how to make another pocket page-friendly Story Card?

This week's Story Card Sunday tutorial is a fun one! Let's get started.

To The Moon Story Card from TechniqueTuesday.comTo make a Story Card like this one, you are going to need to do some die-cutting.

Cut a base card from black cardstock with the Story Card dies. Cut three small stars with the Nested Stars dies and one small heart with the Nested Hearts dies. You'll also want to cut one hexagon with the Hexagon dies.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comSet the base card on scratch paper or a surface you don't mind getting messy. Spritz the base card with white spray mist. Don't have white spray mist? Silver or gold mist would be a nice substitute. You can also make your own spray mist with water and paint.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comLet the mist dry. And then tap on some color with red, blue and green inks. It's important that you tap the ink on rather than rub it on. It's also important to note that the color tinting will be very, very, very subtle.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdhere the hexagon to the base card. Stamp a sentiment on it. The one I used is from the My Sun & Moon stamp set

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdd the stars and heart. Embellish the heart by adding a gem or enamel dot to it.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAnd there you have it. This week's Story Card Sunday tutorial is complete!

Tune in next Sunday for another installment of Story Card Sunday. I'll show you another Story Card you can make to use on a pocket page, in a traditional scrapbook or on a greeting card. Hope to see you then!

Santa Tag and Card by Tonya Dirk for TechniqueTuesday.com

(Santa Tag and card by Tonya Dirk. Created with the Ho Ho Ho stamp set and This Tag steel dies.)

Santa tag by Tonya Dirk for TechniqueTuesday.comTalk about cute! Tonya didn't just make a tag. No, friends. She made a shaker tag! She did it by using a craft knife to cut out Santa's beard to serve as a window. Such a great idea!

And take a good look at her card again. Even though there's a bunch of Santa faces on it, they are all same Santa. In fact, it's the same Santa she used on her tag. It's great how she made one stand out by adding a little color! Bravo, bravo!

Santa card by Tonya Dirk for TechniqueTuesday.comAnd what a great idea for customizing the sentiment! Tonya stamped the words with red ink and then added some highlights with a black pen, as well as polka dots with a white pen.

Speaking of tags, check this fun collection of Christmas tags Tonya put together.

Thank You and Gratitude Cards from Special Guest Tonya Dirk

Hello again!

Looking for some stamptastic inspiration? Well, friends, you are in for a treat! The talented Tonya Dirk is here, sharing with us some awesome projects made with Technique Tuesday products. Tonya is an incredible crafter with a fun, technique-friendly style, and we're so happy to have her here today!

First, let me introduce you to Tonya. Take it away, Tonya!

Tonya Dirk

"My name is Tonya Dirk. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Twenty two years ago I married my high school sweetheart and we have four kiddos ranging from 9-17. I’ve always been a crafty person, as a child I was happiest with coloring books and my Light Brite. My other artsy love, aside from making cards and scrapbook pages, is watercolor painting. When I am not being creative you can find me out on the tennis court, gardening, baking, hiking with my family, or hanging out in central Oregon with my family."

You'll find Tonya's work on her blog and on Instagram.

Are you ready for some awesome inspiration? On your mark. Get set. Check out what Tonya made!

Grateful card by Tonya Dirk for TechniqueTuesday.com

How fun is that wreath? And how cool is it that she placed the "grateful" word on top of it?! So cool!

--------------

Speaking of wreaths, check out the wreath she created on this card. Rather than using die-cuts, she created it with stamps! So, so fun!

Can you believe those small images are from Technique Tuesday's Planner - Thanks stamp set?! While they look awesome in a planner, it's so neat to see them on a card. The way Tonya arranged them in groups of three with enamel dots makes them visually powerful!

What a fun way to use the leaf dies from Grateful! Rather than making an entire wreath, group some together and embellish them with a few enamel dots. Great idea!

Another fun idea from Tonya! She made the "grateful" word really stand out against her busy background by die-cutting the word twice and then layering the words together. The combination of the two different colors of cardstock really packs a lot of punch!

Thankful For You card by Tonya Dirk for TechniqueTuesday.com

(Thankful for You card by Tonya Dirk. Made with the I Am Thankful stamp set.)

Thankful For You card by Tonya Dirk for TechniqueTuesday.comOK, friends! Say it with me, "Ooh la la!" Is that background paper cool or what?! And guess what?! Tonya made herself simply by stamping those Fall images and coloring them in.

A big thank you goes out to Tonya for letting us share these fun group of cards with you today!

Like Tonya's style? Come back on Thursday to see another fun batch of projects by her! Oh yes, friends! There's more! Hope to see you then!

Peace on Earth

Happy Tuesday, Technique Tuesday fans!

Let's kick off the day with a little prettiness... in card form from Lisa Adametz

Peace on Earth card by Lisa Adametz for TechniqueTuesday.comIs this card a stunner or what?!

Lisa created her card with the Holly - Greenhouse Society stamp set.

Holly - Greenhouse Society stamp set from TechniqueTuesday.com

How did she color in the holly? Simple. She used watercolor pencils.

Then she stamped the holly leaves a second time on scratch paper and fussy cut them to make a mask. She set the mask on her card panel and then applied ink around the holly leaves to make the pretty blue background. Pretty cool, huh?

PS. Did you know there's a die that coordinates with the Holly stamp set? Meet the Holly die. This die includes a mat to stamp on and two words. It's on sale now.

Story Card Sunday... on Monday: My Home

Hello everyone!

It's time for Story Card Sunday... on Monday!

This week's Story Card is inspired by the November release from Technique Tuesday. It's about home!

Home Story Card from TechniqueTuesday.comImagine putting this Story Card in a pocket page or on a traditional scrapbook page about your home life. It would also work on a traditional greeting card or as a gift tag for someone you love.

It was easy to make with Technique Tuesday's clear stamps and steel dies. Let me show you how you can make one like it.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comStart by cutting a base card with the Story Card dies and a small heart with the Nested Hearts dies.

You are also going to want to cut from "grass" from green cardstock. Cut a partial base card from green cardstock.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comUse your scissors to cut a wave. Adhere the "grass" to the base card.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comCut a small rectangle from patterned paper or cardstock. Stamp a sentiment on top. I used a phrase from the Home Is stamp set.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comFreehand cut a triangle roof and a rectangle chimney from cardstock. Adhere it to the Story Card.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comFinish the Story Card by adding the heart and a gem. Not a fan of bling? Use an enamel dot or brad instead.

Thanks for tuning in today. I'll be back again on Sunday with another Story Card Sunday tutorial. Hope to see you then.
