Story Card Sunday: Joy Tree

Hi all!

It's time for another edition of Story Card Sunday. This week's pocket page-friendly Story Card pays tribute to the upcoming holiday season.

You like? Hope so!

Let me show you how you can make one like it.

Start by cutting a base card with the Story Card dies. Cut 5 labels from green cardstock with the Rectangle Labels dies. Cut a small star with the Nested Stars dies and a small heart with the Nested Hearts dies.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comArrange the labels onto the base card. Add the heart to one of them.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comPoke a hole above the top label and one a little bit below it.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comBring jute, twine or embroidery floss through the holes. Add the star to the top.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdd embellishments to the heart and the star.

Stamp a word or phrase onto the Story Card. The word I used is from the Poinsettia Wishes stamp set

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comFinish the Story Card by adding one more gem or enamel dot. Tie a little piece of twine onto the jute as well.

While this Story Card fits many of the major pocket scrapbook pages out there, it would also work on a traditional scrapbook page and on a greeting card. It would also be fun to create several of these Story Cards and decorate a Christmas tree with them.

Thanks for tuning in. See you again next Sunday!

A Non-Traditional Christmas Card

Who says Christmas cards have to use traditional colors?! Check out this cool idea from Birgit Edblom.

Black and White Merry Christmas card by Birgit Edblom for Technique TuesdayRather than making a card in traditional reds and greens, follow Birgit's lead and make a card with blacks and grays. Your card is sure to be unique!

Wondering what stamp set Birgit used to make her card? She used the Holly - Greenhouse Society stamp set. This is a fun one to use to make handmade cards with all Winter long.
