Story Card Sunday: Christmas Calories

Hi all!

Happy Story Card Sunday! I'm excited to show you how to make this super cute pocket page-friendly Story Card.

Christmas Calories Story Card from TechniqueTuesday.comIt was easy to make with Technique Tuesday's clear stamps and steel dies. Let me show you how you can make one too.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comStart by cutting a postage base card with the Postage Card dies. You'll also want to cut a small rectangle with the Clipboard dies.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comHeat emboss the cup of cocoa and a sentiment from the Christmas Calories stamp set onto the rectangle with white embossing powder.

Now you are going to do some coloring.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdd a little red to the candy cane. Draw a line with a green marker over some of the words.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comColor in the mug. I used an alcohol-based marker so I just colored right over the snowflakes, which changed them from white to a light blue. If you use a non-alcohol based marker, use a paper towel to remove any ink that pools on top of the embossing powder.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comUse a white gel pen to color in the rest of the candy cane, as well as the cocoa's cream.

Adhere the rectangle to postage base card. Use a hole punch to add a hole to the top. Bring twine through the hole and tie a bow in front.

While this Story Card would work great on a card or scrapbook page, you could also use it as a gift tag. Simply add a little more twine to it and hang it onto a cocoa or coffee cup to give as a holiday gift.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comI'll be back again next week with another Story Card Sunday tutorial. Hope to see you then!

Technique Tuesday Tip: Make Die-Cut Words POP

Hey, crafters!

Here's a fun tip for you! Want to make a die-cut word on your next scrapbook page or card stand out? Die-cut your word twice and then stack the dies together.

Grateful card from TechniqueTuesday.com

This will add just enough kick to really make the word pop!

This technique is not limited to words. Imagine cutting a couple leaves and stacking them up, just like the grateful word! It would make them pop as well.

Grateful card from TechniqueTuesday.comYou can the Grateful stamp set that was used to make this card (as well as the Little Labels dies and I Am Thankful stamp set) at Technique Tuesday and through some retailers. If your favorite store doesn't carry Technique Tuesday products, ask them to get them in.

A Colorful Technique from Tobi + Technique Tuesday on the Web

Do you like color? Well, I think you are going to love this fun card Tobi Crawford made.

For You Leaves by Tobi CrawfordWondering how she gave those leaves (cut with the Garden Leaves by Cath Edvalson dies) that rainbow tone? Easy. She used a little bit of spray mist on them. Swing by her blog to get a better look at the card and to see the leaves turn from plain white to rainbow-toned. It is so cool!

By the way, we love how seeing how you are using Technique Tuesday's products. Here are a couple projects shared on the Web that we'd like to call your attention to:

  • There's just something about flowers, and the cards Roberta Wax has been making with the Camellia - Greenhouse Society stamp set are so inspiring. So many great ideas!
  • What a cute card Tracey McNeely created with the Chickadees stamp set!
  • Are you a planner? Watch this fun process video from Charmaine Dulak to see how she decorates her planner. She does a little stamping with Technique Tuesday's planner stamp sets.
  • Just you wait until you see how Tamatha colored in the flowers from the Pansy stamp set? So, so realistic!
