Story Card Sunday: Celebrate The Everyday (... and 100 Story Cards!)

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Story Card Sunday! It's hard to believe this week marks our 100th Story Card Sunday tutorial.

And I think you are going to enjoy learning how to make this week's pocket page-friendly Story Card. It mimics the look of stained glass with vellum, cardstock and markers.

Stained Glass Story Card from TechniqueTuesday.comLet's get started.

The first step is do some die-cutting. You'll need two base cards cut with the Story Card steel dies. One should be cut from cardstock. The second should be cut from vellum. You'll also need to cut a leaf with the Garden Leaves by Cath Edvalson steel dies.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comYou'll need about 1 1/2" of the cardstock base card.

Use markers (or colored pencils or crayons) to add a little color to the leaves. Try to use fairly bold colors to do the coloring. The vellum will soften the colors.

While this Story Card is perfectly sized to fit in a pocket page, it would also work well on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card. You could also use it as a tag. Just pop a hole in the top and add a little ribbon or twine.

In honor of this being the 100th installment in our Story Card Sunday series, we've got a special offer for you. You can get 20% off our Story Card dies through September 8th when you enter coupon code SCDIES at checkout. You can see all of our Story Card dies here.
