Story Card Sunday: The Little Things
Hi all!
It's Sunday, which means it is time for another installment in the Story Card Sunday series.
This week's Story Card has an artsy twist! We're going to use paint to create a textured effect.
Let me show you this fun technique and how you can make a Story Card like this one.
Start by cutting two base cards with the Story Card steel dies. Cut a rectangle with Pocket of Love steel dies.
You are going to want to protect your work surface with a craft mat or scratch paper. Set a base card on the work surface. Squirt craft paint all over it.
Crumple up a piece of plastic wrap. The more wrinkles, the better. Set the plastic wrap on top of the Story Card.
Leave the plastic wrap in place until the paint is completely dry. This will take several hours. Once the paint is dry, peel off the plastic wrap.
While I was working on this Story Card, I made a couple more. Notice how the texture varies from card to card.
Your Story Card will likely wrinkle because of the paint so you are going to want to adhere the base card to the second base card.
Take the small rectangle and stamp a phrase onto it. I used stamps from the Favorite Things and Hello Darling stamp sets.
Adhere the small rectangle to the Story Card.
Finish it off by adding a staple to it.
I'll be back again next week with another Story Card Sunday tutorial. Hope to see you then.
What a fun and pretty technique!
