Teri here again, and I'm excited to finish up this week's Die Week festivities with one more card created with Technique Tuesday's DIY Steel Dies.
One of the things I dig about Technique Tuesday's dies is all the different materials you can cut with them. You aren't limited to plain old paper. No. you can use Technique Tuesday's DIY Steel Dies with cork, sandpaper, metal tape and more.
I used an non-traditional paper (a very thick watercolor paper) to cut the bases for the octagons (from the Going Places steel dies) for this card.
I die-cut the octagons and then brushed some watercolor paint onto them. I love the artsy look the paint gave them. For added visual interest, I added some hearts (also cut with the Going Places dies) and banners (cut with the Flair Maker dies) to some of them. I also added a few gems.
Another fun non-traditional surface to use Technique Tuesday's steel dies with is craft foam. Check out this Story Card from the Technique Tuesday Inspiration Vault.
We die-cut the Smile word (from the Say It - Smile steel dies) from a white craft foam. I just love the dimension it gives the Story Card!
We sure hope you've enjoyed this week's Die Week projects. If you've made something lately with Technique Tuesday's DIY Steel Dies, we'd love to see it! Share it with us on Facebook or on Instagram or Twitter. Be sure to use the #TechniqueTuesday hashtag!
PS. Don't forget! There's still time to get free hugs! You can get the Straight Talk - Hugs die for free this week. Spend $30 or more on TechniqueTuesday.com by Sunday, June 21st, 2015, and Technique Tuesday will include it for free with your order. There's no need to add the Straight Talk - Hugs die to your cart, but be sure to write "Hug Me" in the Comments field at checkout so we know to include the die for free with your order when we ship it.
