Die Week: A Colorful Card from Tobi
Hi everyone!
Welcome to Die Week! We'll be sharing some fantastic projects here all week that feature Technique Tuesday's DIY Steel Dies.
Did you know Technique Tuesday offers more than 70 different steel dies? Our DIY Steel Dies make it fast and easy to add dimension to cards, pocket page scrapbooks, traditional layouts and all your craft projects. Here are just a few things you should know about them:
- They are easy to use! These steel dies are universally compatible with leading die cutting machines. You don't have to drag out a computer! Just run the metal die through your machine. Use the die-cut accents as is. Or stamp on them to make a unique embellishment for your project.
- They are versatile! Unlike digital cut files (SVGs) which work best with paper, steel dies can be used to cut out other materials like washi tape, thin chipboard, balsa wood, cork, foam and more! You can choose from so many materials to make truly unique projects.
- They are high quality! All our dies are made from high quality steel right here in the USA.
But what can you make with them? Sit back, relax and get ready to be inspired. We've got a "die-namite" group of projects to share with you this week. And we've got some great tips too!
So let's get this party started with a fun card from Tobi Crawford.
I just love what Tobi did with the butterflies she cut with the Happy Butterfly steel dies.
To really make them pop, Tobi brushed watercolor paint under each butterfly. This is a great way to make lace-style die-cuts, like the butterfly, stand out. If you don't have watercolor paints, consider using pencils or markers to scribble color underneath them.
Also, here's a fun trick for adhering dies like the butterflies. Rather than putting glue under the whole die, only put it under the thickest part of the die. Tobi only placed glue under the body of the butterflies. She didn't put any glue under the wings. Not only did this hold the butterflies onto her card, but it also allowed her to bend the wings so the butterflies look like they really are flying. Bravo, Tobi!
We hope you will come stop on by tomorrow! We've got another fun project made with Technique Tuesday's steel dies to share with you!
PS. Want to add a new die to your stash of crafting products? We're sending Hugs (as in the Straight Talk - Hugs steel die) to folks who spend $30 on TechniqueTuesday.com by midnight on Sunday, June 21st, 2015. There's no need to add the Straight Talk - Hugs die to your cart, but be sure to write "Hug Me" in the Comments field at checkout so we know to include the die for free with your order when we ship it.
Gorgeous card - love that butterfly!
