A Card for a Graduation

Hi everyone!

Got someone graduating? Here's a fun idea for a card to make for your graduate!

Congrats Globe card from TechniqueTuesday.comGlobes go hand in a hand with school and are the perfect accent to use on a graduation card! I made this one with the help of Technique Tuesday's Here Globe and Let's Go steel dies. These dies can be used on their own or together.

I made the piece of notebook paper by cutting a panel from white cardstock with the Memo Pad Card dies. I stamped lines on top with the Travel Log clear stamp set.

Congrats Globe card from TechniqueTuesday.comI created the sentiment with a couple different stamps from the Look Out World stamp set.

In fact, I masked off a several words from one stamp with Washi tape just to use that "to" word.

Let's Go ... with Daniela

There are cards, and there are CARDS!

And gosh, what a fun one Daniela Dobson made! It's definitely one of those CARDS. Check this out.

Adventure by Daniela DobsonDon't you just love that globe?! So fun!

Daniela made it by pairing together Technique Tuesday's Here Globe and Let's Go steel dies. I love how she tied twine onto the base of the globe. It's just such a fun touch!

Adventure close by Daniela DobsonThe words? Daniela stamped them with the On Vacation stamp set. Don't let the name of the stamp set deceive you. While this card could be given to someone going on vacation, it could easily do duty as a non-traditional graduation, engagement or wedding card!

Get the Chalkboard Look!

Hi all!

Teri here with a quick Technique Tuesday Tip!

Chalkboard Globe created with steel dies from TechniqueTuesday.comIt's easy to get the chalkboard look! Die-cut a globe with the Here Globe steel dies from black cardstock. Use white pens and markers to write a word on it. You can add "chalk" marks by applying ink to the edges of the globe and rubbing your finger on the white ink while it is still wet! It's that easy!

You can find the Here Globe steel dies on the New for 2015 page on the Technique Tuesday website. The dies coordinate with a number of clear stamp sets just released.

Make Your Own Constellation for a Card!

Hi everyone!

Constellations (or night skies) are a really popular design to see on T-shirts right now, and I've come up with a fun way to mimic that look. Check out this card I made.

The World Card from TechniqueTuesday.comSee that starry night background? I made it myself!

And here's how you can make your own DIY Constellation paper to use on a greeting card.

Start with a piece of black cardstock. Spray bleach onto it. Let the bleach pool up and let it dry a few hours.

DIY Constellation paper from TechniqueTuesday.comAfter the bleach is dry, swab purple chalk around most of the bleach drops. Apply some purple chalk onto some of the black spots too.

DIY Constellation from TechniqueTuesday.comNow take some blue chalk and apply it onto the bleach spots like so.

DIY Constellation from TechniqueTuesday.comYou've got one more round of chalking to do. This time you are going to swab on some pink chalk.

DIY Constellation from TechniqueTuesday.comI caution you that it won't look pretty as you do the chalking. Be patient! I assure you that this starry night background is going to get prettier and prettier with each step.

DIY Constellation from TechniqueTuesday.comNow that you have completed the chalking, you are going to want to spritz some white spray mist on top of your background. If you don't have any spray mist, mix a little paint with some water and then put it into a spray bottle!

DIY Constellation from TechniqueTuesday.comLet the white spray mist dry.

To keep the chalk colors from coming off, spray the panel with a light misting of hairspray.

The World card from TechniqueTuesday.comFor my card, I stamped a couple stars on it with Technique Tuesday's Look Out World clear stamp set

Look Out World clear stamp set from TechniqueTuesday.comAnd then I heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set onto a strip of black cardstock with white ink and white embossing powder.

Sure love the look!

Story Card Sunday: The Story of Today

Hello!

Please meet this week's Story Card!

The Story of Today Story Card from TechniqueTuesday.comTa-da!

This Story Card would work great in a pocket page scrapbook or on a traditional scrapbook page. Not a scrapbooker? You could use it on a greeting card too! Just change out the sentiment.

Here's how you can make one just like with steel dies and clear stamps from TechniqueTuesday.com.

Start by cutting a base card with the Story Card steel dies. Cut two pockets and one center with the Hello Pocket steel dies. Cut one solid label with the Marquee Label dies and four small stars with the Nested Stars dies.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdhere one pocket onto the Story Card like so.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdhere the second pocket like this.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comPlace the center in the second pocket. Use a piercing tool to poke holes around the pockets. Stitch floss or twine through the holes.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.com

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comStamp a phrase on top of the label. The one I used is from Technique Tuesday's Matter of Time clear stamp set.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comAdhere the label to the Story Card. Add the stars as well.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from TechniqueTuesday.comFinish the Story Card off by adding a few gems or enamel dots to a couple of the stars.

With that, this week's Story Card is a wrap! Tune in next Sunday for another installment of Story Card Sunday. Hope to see you then!
