Celebrating December with Laura

Here's a fun way to spruce up a holiday gift.

Decorate it with a tag or label stamped with a sentiment from the Celebrating December - Memory Keepers Studio stamp set like Laura O'Donnell did.

Laura die-cut the tag with the Folding Banners - Fresh Cut Studio steel dies. Then she stamped the sentiment on top and added the glittery flower.

Imagine creating a whole bunch of tags like Laura's. Tuck them away in a safe place so that you just have to grab them when you are ready to start wrapping this year's Christmas presents.

A Halloween Pocket Card

Hello, Technique Tuesday fans!

Here's a sweet idea for Halloween: Use Technique Tuesday's Pull Strip steel die to create a Halloween pocket card with a surprise inside.

Rather than giving your favorite goblin a candy bar of your choice, create a voucher to tuck inside the pocket that she can redeem for her favorite kind of candy.

Fun, huh?

By the way, are you wondering exactly how the Pull Strip Steel Die works? Watch this video for the how-to.

And here's a complete list of the Technique Tuesday supplies used to create this Halloween card:

Wishing you a spooky good day,

Story Card Sunday: This Was Awesome

Hello all!

Sunday means it is time again for new Story Card.

Like many of the Story Cards we feature on the Technique Tuesday blog, this one would work swell in a pocket page or on a traditional scrapbook page. It would also look good on a greeting card. Just change out the sentiment to fit your needs!

So here's how you can make one like it with Technique Tuesday's steel dies and clear stamps.

Start by cutting a base card with the Story Cards steel dies. You'll also want to cut some flags with the Flair Maker - Fresh Cut Studio dies and a word with the Say It 2 - Awesome dies

Using the Little Banners stamp set, stamp some patterns onto the flags.

Adhere the die-cut flags and word to the card. Stamp a few words with the Say It 2 - Awesome stamp set over the die-cut word. (Words in the Say It 2 - Fabulous stamp set would also work good with the die-cut word.)

Finish the Story Card off by tying on a little bit of twine or ribbon over the flags.

I'll be back again next Sunday with another Story Card. Hope to see you then.

Celebrating December with Ashley

Already thinking about the holidays?

Ashley Harris has come up with quick and fun way to use Technique Tuesday's Celebrating December - Memory Keepers Studio stamp set: Make Christmas tags!

Ashley cut strips of cardstock and then stamped and heat embossed images and words from the stamp set on top.

These tags are so simple that you might think, "Why didn't I think of that?"

These tags could be easily be used to decorate Christmas packages or even placed on a holiday table.

A Pretty Card from Tobi

Looking for some inspiration for the Queen Anne's Lace - Greenhhouse Society stamp set? Look no further than this stunning card from Tobi Crawford.

Isn't it fun?!

Tobi stamped the flower with black ink on a cloud-themed patterned paper. To add to the artsy look of her card, she added some droplets of black ink. It looks so cool!

Have you made anything with the Queen Anne's Lace - Greenhouse Society stamp set? We'd sure love to see it. Share it with us through the Technique Tuesday Facebook page and on Instagram and Twitter. Be sure to use the #TechniqueTuesday hashtag.

PS. Who won the Sending Smiles stamp set? That would be Celeste Goff. Congrats! Teri just sent you an email about your prize. Thanks to all for the kind words.

Story Card Sunday: Fabulous

We meet again, friends!

It's time for another installment in the Story Card Sunday series. Can you believe this post is the 52nd Story Card we've featured here on the Technique Tuesday blog? Yes, we've been bringing out a pocket page-friendly Story Card every Sunday for a whole year. Time sure flies!

So let me show you this week's Story Card.

This Story Card is not just pocket page-friendly. It would also look good on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card.

It is also super easy to make with steel dies and clear stamps from Technique Tuesday. Let me show you how you can make one like it.

Start by cutting two base cards with Story Card DIY Steel Dies. One should be from cardstock while the other should be from patterned paper.

You'll should also cut a label with the Folding Banners - Fresh Cut Studio steel dies.

Now you are going to want to pull out the base card cut from cardstock. Set the Straight Talk - Fabulous die on top of it. Use a little Washi tape (or Painter's tape) to hold it in place and then run it through your die-cutting machine.

After you've cut the word, use your scissors to finish the cut all the way across your Story Card. You should end up with something that looks like this.

Set a sticky note over part of the Story Card and then sponge ink over the word. Continuing sponging on ink until the exposed part of the card is completely covered with ink.

Remove the sticky note. You'll end up with something like this.

Adhere the card to the base card cut from patterned paper. Stamp the "you are" phrase from the Say It 2 - Fabulous stamp set onto the label. Adhere it to the card. Trim the excess.

Finish the card off by tying on some twine. Hold it in place with staples. Add a gem or two.

And that's a wrap!

I'll be again next Sunday to give you another Story Card how-to. I hope to see you then.

A Card for Operation Write Home

Hi everyone!

It's World Card Making Day, and we're excited to join Operation Write Home's World Card Making Day Blog Hop!

Operation Write Home is a non-profit organization that mobilizes card makers to create blank handmade cards to send to the troops to use to send messages back home to their friends and family. We think it's a great cause and wanted to show our support for their effort so we're sharing a love-themed card we'll be donating to Operation Write Home.

(By the way, if you are card maker and want to contribute a few cards yourself, go here to learn about Operation Write Home's current card needs.)

My favorite part of this card is the folded banner! I just love how it pops off the card. We created it by die-cutting banner with the Folding Banners - Fresh Cut Studio steel dies and then stamping a sentiment on top with Technique Tuesday's new Sending Smiles stamp set.

We die-cut the large hearts with Technique Tuesday's Nested Hearts DIY Steel Dies.
