Happy Halloween

Let the ghosts and goblins come out. Halloween is here.

And how cute is this little tag Lori Vliegen created to tie on a bag of candy?!

Super cute if you ask me!

I love how she stamped the ghost (from the Boo by Lori Vliegen stamp set) and then added the white coloring to it. And the oval with the "boo" word is the perfect touch!

Speaking of Lori's Boo stamp set, Technique Tuesday has a special offer for you.

Buy the Boo stamp set and we'll send you Technique Tuesday's Eek stamp set for free. Just use this link to make your purchase.

Have a safe and happy holiday,

Memory Keeping with Linda

Hello friends! This is a super quick and simple layout I created about my trip to the Great Wall. I took so many photos, but I wanted one layout that had a bit of info about the wall itself.

Lindabarber.SayIt.1The layout is one big photo printed on 8.5” x 11” matte photo paper. I love matte photo paper! It’s so easy to stamp on. I also added the journaling before printing at home.

I stamped directly onto the photo. For matte photo paper, pigment ink is the best. I used only two colors, black and magenta. I wanted a color that contrasted with all the blues, greens, and greys of the photos. Two stamp sets were used: Say It 2 –Fabulous and Say It 2- Awesome.

From Fabulous, I used the “Fabulous” (of course!), “This is”, and “A” stamps. From the Awesome set, I used the “Really” flag , “Memory”, and the stars. If you are looking at the Fabulous set and wondering where “A” is, I inked only the A in the “Have A” stamp.

There you go! Simple, right?

A Jolly Good Card from Daniela

Hello, Technique Tuesday fans!

Here's a fun card from Daniela Dobson to kick off the week.

Jolly by Daniela Dobson

Sure love those trees! Daniela stamped them with the Merry Day stamp set

And check out the tag and label! She cut those out with Folding Banners - Fresh Cut Studio steel dies and then stamped some images from the set on top. I sure dig how she colored the Christmas bulb in with pencils. And the striped tape on the label is such a nice touch.

Nice work, Daniela!

Story Card Sunday: Silly Monster

You might say this week's Story Card is a bit on the spooky side.

I present to you: The Silly Monster Story Card.

Halloween's coming so I thought it'd be fun this week make a Halloween-inspired Story Card. Like many of the Story Cards featured here on the Technique Tuesday blog, this one is pocket page-friendly but would also look great on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card.

Let me show you how you can make one like it with Technique Tuesday's DIY Steel Dies.

Start by cutting a base card with the Story Card steel dies. Use the Circles dies to cut two small circles from black cardstock and two more circles from white cardstock.

Cut several strips of white cardstock. Age them by sponging on a little brown ink.

Adhere the strips of cardstock to the base card like so. Trim the excess off the sides.

Adhere the circles onto the Story Card so they look like eyeballs. Use a pen to doodle a mouth and stitch marks.

Finish your monster off by adding a nose with a gem, brad or enamel dot.

I hope to see you again next week. I will have a brand new Story Card for you.

Did Someone Say Chocolate?

Here's a holiday gift idea for a favorite co-worker or friend.

Fill a box with chocolates and decorate it with a tag made with Technique Tuesday's Christmas Wishes stamp set like Daniela Dobson did.

So fun!

Don't you just love that tag?! Daniela stamped the large circle stamp onto a scalloped circle. Then she stamped the Christmas ornament stamp on a 1" circle. She colored the bulb in and then adhered it to the tag with foam tape. I just love that extra dimension it gives the tag.

Celebrating December with Linda

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! Love everything about it. This layout features only food photos, but really, my favorite part is hanging out with my family. Well, leftovers are a favorite also…

The stamp sets used were Celebrating December set from Memory Keepers Studio and its little sibling Living and Laughing. I also used the Folding Banners dies from Fresh Cut Studio. While Celebrating December is clearly a Christmas set,  it works really well as a Thanksgiving set (and many other occasions).

The photos are from my Instagram. I like going through my account and finding photos to scrap. I printed them as 2”x2” squares with a little border around. The tags are cut using the Folding Banners (which by the way, if you are more of a digital cutting machine person, there’s also a digi file). Then I stamped using a variety of colors. Once everything was glued on, I used a bit of silver thread to add a little stitching.  Easy peasy.

A Cash Holder from Laura

Got a "hard to buy a gift for" person on your Christmas list?

Take a lead from Laura O'Donnell. Give them some cash in a style. Check out this cool cash holder she made.

Take it away, Laura!

"I made this with the Pull Tab die and new Santa Says stamps.

I'm not sure what to call this, a Cash Pocket or a Cash Envelope.

The cardstock base and top are 3 1/2 x 7 and the patterned paper on the front is 2 3/4 x 6.  So it's a great way to use patterned paper from mini decks if you don't have a lot of 12x12.  I adhered the patterned paper to the top piece of cardstock before running it through the Big Shot with the Pull Tab Die, then I put adhesive around all 4 sides of the base cardstock and sealed the money inside.

I love the idea of an interactive card and I think by the shape of this the recipient will know there's money in there!"

Thanks for sharing this fun project, Laura!

Santa Says Are You Ready For Holiday Packaging?

Don't you love it when your gifts are as special on the outside as they are on the inside? A lot of thought goes into buying gifts. Why not put that same thought into your holiday cards, tags, and packages.

If you've recently purchased the Pull Strip steel die, check out the new Christmas Borders stamp set. This stamp set is designed to fit on the Pull Strip die. It's sure to add excitement to the gift card holders you make. Or use these stamps without the die to add a border to a layout or card.

And whether you are making cards or tags, you're going to want to check out the new collection of circle stamps. They are designed to fit in a 1 ¾" punch or our nested circle steel dies. These stamps are adorable as is. Or get out your favorite markers, water color pencils, or glitter glue to add a POP of color.

Story Card Sunday: Picture Goes Here

Ever want to scrapbook something and just don't have that one picture you need to pull off the page?

Let me introduce you to this week's Story Card. This is the perfect Story Card to use when you've got a great story but don't have the picture you need.

Let me show you how you can one like with Technique Tuesday's clear stamps and DIY Steel Dies.

Start by cutting a base card with the Story Card dies

Adhere strips of cardstock across the card. Stamp a sentiment with the No Picture stamp set onto the card.

Stamp a face (from the No Picture stamp set) onto yellow cardstock. Cut it out with a 1" circle punch. You could also die-cut it with Technique Tuesday's Circles steel dies.

Adhere the face onto a small tag. Trim a little bit off the edge. Add twine to the tag.

Finish the Story Card off by adhering the tag to it.

I'll be back again next week with a new Story Card. Hope to see you then.
