It's Story Card Sunday time! And just wait until you see this week's installment!
Start by cutting a base card with the Story Card DIY Steel Dies.
Did you know you can dry emboss with steel dies? Let me show you how I did that for this Story Card with a Big Shot machine.
Open the the machine up to platform one. Set a cutting pad and two rubber embossing mats (or Plummer's Gasket) on the platform. Set the base card on top. And then set the Nested Stars dies onto it. (The dies should be face down.) And then set a cutting pad on top. Run the whole thing through the die-cutting machine.
The end result will be something like this.
Pretty cool, huh?
(By the way, you may use a different kind of die-cutting machine than I do so it may work different with your machine. Check with the machine's manufacturer for instructions on pulling off this technique.)
Going back to the Story Card, scribble some color with watercolor crayons (or watercolor pencils) over the stars. Spread the color with water.
I felt the color on my stars was a little light so I went in and added a little more color with a second watercolor crayon.
Finish the Story Card off by stamping a sentiment. (I used one from Technique Tuesday's Everything Pocket Page stamp set.) Add a few gems or enamel dots as well.
I'll be back again next week with another Story Card! I hope you will join the fun!
