Story Card Sunday: Awesome Life
We meet again, Technique Tuesday fans!
Sunday means it is time once again to share a new Story Card with you.
Like many of the Story Cards we feature here on the Technique Tuesday blog, this one is pocket page-friendly. It would also look good on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card.
Let me show you how you can make one like it.
Start by cutting two base cards with the Story Card DIY Steel Dies.
Take the solid base card and set the Straight Talk - Awesome steel die on it. Use a little Washi or Painter's tape to hold it in place.
Run it through your manual die-cutting machine. When finished, you'll get something that looks like this. Use your scissors to snip off the ends.
The end result will be something like this.
Now we are going to do a little masking and inking.
Set the card on a piece of scratch paper. Set a sticky note on top, masking off part of the card. Sponge ink over the exposed parts like so.
Keep going until you've completely covered the exposed part of the card with ink. Remove the mask. And you'll end up with something like this.
Adhere the card to the other base card. Stamp a few additional words onto the card with the Say It 2 - Awesome stamp set.
Finish the card off by adding a few enamel dots or gems. And tie on a piece of twine.
Ta-da! I hope like it!
I'll be back again next week with a new Story Card. By the way, next week marks the one-year anniversary of our Story Card series. If you've been inspired to make some Story Cards of your own, we'd love to see them! Please share them with us through the Technique Tuesday Facebook page or on Instagram with #TechniqueTuesday hashtag.
PS. Hooray! Yippee! The wait is over! No more sneak peeking around! If you follow our Facebook page, you've seen that we've been sharing sneak peeks all week of our newest Technique Tuesday products. They are finally here! Whether you are starting to think about making holiday cards or are planning to put together a December Daily journal or just want some fresh new stuff to play with, you'll find it all on the New for 2014 page on our Web site.
I LOVE it. Love how you masked off and inked it to add a little color. Thanks for sharing.
Crafty hugs,
D~
