A Little Sunshine from Lori Vliegen

Hello, Technique Tuesday fans!

We're sending a little sunshine to you today, courtesy of Lori Vliegen. Check out this fun and cheerful card she made!

Card - LV sunshine

So, so cute! And so, so happy!

Lori created it with the Hello Sunshine stamp set, which she just happens to have designed for Technique Tuesday.

Fun, huh?

I sure love how Lori used the stamp set on her card. The doodled sunrays are fun! And how about how she did the sentiment?! Stamping the words and then adding some additional lines with a green pen sure makes the "you" word stand out.

Going Places with Summer

Two. Four. Six. Eight.

Here's a scrapbook page from Summer Fullerton that we sure appreciate and can relate to. A new driver in the family? Yep. Always a fun story to document!

Summer did just that, reminiscing about a recent driving experience with her teen-age son.

"Daddy is an awesome driving coach and co-pilot. I prefer to hang in the back taking selfies and sharing secrets with Corrine."

Summer did a great job mixing and matching elements together to create her fun and eye-catching page.

I just love the circles she created for her title. She die-cut circles with Technique Tuesday's Circles DIY Steel Dies and then stamped on them with the Going Places clear stamp set

And check out how Summer embellished her photo mats by stamping on a couple of them with Going Places and the Best Place stamp set and then adding a few more stamped circles.

Nice work, Summer!

Story Card Sunday: A Fun Week

Hello all!

It's time yet again for another installment in our popular Story Card Sunday blog series so let's get to it. Here is this week's Story Card.

Like all the Story Cards we feature on Story Card Sunday, this would look great in a pocket page. It'd also work well on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card.

Let me show you how to make one like it.

Start by cutting three bases with the Story Card DIY Steel dies.

Using the Torn Spriral Edge steel die, cut a border out of one of the base cards. Using the Straight Talk - Week, cut the word out of another one of them. Use a little Washi tape (or Painter's tape) to hold the dies in place as your run them through your die-cutting machine.

You should end up with something like this. By the way, you'll need your scissors to snip off the ends of the week card.

Layer all three cards together. Scs_44_4

Finish the card off by stamping a phrase over the "week" word. (I used a phrase from Technique Tuesday's Everything Pocket Page stamp set.)

Add some twine and stamp a small element at the bottom of the card. (The stars I used are also from the Everything Pocket Page clear stamp set.)

And guess what? I've got a bonus Story Card to share with you today. I used the leftover pieces from this card (plus one more base card cut with the Story Card die) to make this bonus card.

And that's a wrap!

I'll be back again next Sunday with a new Story Card for you. Hope to see you then.

PS. Technique Tuesday just released more than 30 new clear stamp sets and steel dies. You'll find them on the New for 2014 page on our Web site.

Going Places with Jaclyn

Hello all!

Stumped in the hunt for ideas for Technique Tuesday's new Going Places steel dies and Going Places and Best Place clear stamp sets? Why not make some journaling cards for a pocket page scrapbook like Jaclyn Miller did!

Fun stuff, huh? (Not a pocket page scrapbooker? That's OK. These cards would also look great on a traditional scrapbook page!)

Jaclyn created the bases for her journaling cards from cardstock. She decorated them with patterned papers and more cardstock and then went to town embellishing them by mixing and matching different stamped and die-cut elements together.

I especially dig the "Headed in the Right Direction" card. She covered her card with patterned paper, added a strip of cardstock to the bottom and then stamped the circle from Going Places stamp set on it. The phrase is from the Best Place stamp set. And the plane? Well, it was cut with the Going Places steel dies.

The card is a great example of how you can mix all three products together to make something really unique. Well done, Jaclyn!

Going Places with Tanis

Looking for some inspiration for the new Going Places Memory Keepers Studio stamp set?

Check out this cool card Tanis Giesbrecht made with the clear stamp set.

Going Places

Don't those cars look cool? I love how she stamped them different colors, fussy cut them out and then lined them up. They look great!

By the way, you'll never guess who Tanis made this card for!

"I made it for my daughter - 1st child to get her driver's license. Yikes."

Hee! Thanks for letting us share your card, Tanis!

Story Card Sunday: Perfect Day

Yippee! It's time yet again for Story Card Sunday!

This pocket page-friendly Story Card was easy to make with clear stamps and steel dies from Let me show you can make one like it!

Start by cutting two base cards with the Story Card DIY Steel Dies. You'll also want to cut two hearts with the Nested Hearts dies.

Take one base card and set the Straight Talk - Day die on it. Use a little Washi tape to hold it in place and then run it through your die-cutting machine.

Remove the die. Use your scissors to finish the cut like so.

Adhere the Day card to the other base card. Stamp the "me + you" phrase from the Cloud 9 stamp set on top.

Adhere one of the hearts to the card. Take the second heart. Fold it half and adhere it to the card.

Finish the card off by adding a few embellishments to the heart.

And there you have it! I'll be back again next with another Story Card. Hope to see you then.

PS. Are a fan of digital die-cutting? Did you know we offer many of our steel dies as digital cut files? You'll find them here
