Getting the DIY Party Look: Customized Straws
Hi again!
I showed you my DIY Party on Monday. I want to show you today how I took plain old paper straws and turned them into something special for the party!
The supplies I used were:
- Technique Tuesday's Label DIY Steel Die
- Some pattterned paper and cardstock
- A couple stamp sets with words. I used Technique Tuesday's I Like You stamp set.
- Paper straws and an ink pad and stapler
And here's the how-to.
Start by die-cutting a number of label shapes from cardstock and patterned paper.
Take a sentiment stamp and ink it up. (Hint: If you only want to use a portion of the stamp, cover part of the stamp with tape before you ink the stamp. Once you've inked up the stamp, remove the tape and stamp.)
Stamp the sentiment.
Wrap a stamped label and a patterned paper label around the straw. Staple the labels in place.
The end result will be something that looks like these!
Fun, huh?
And just in case you are wondering, here's how these straws looked on my party table. I tucked all of my straws in a small jar.
Tune in tomorrow and I'll show you how I created the tissue paper flowers I used to decorate the table and the party banner with Technique Tuesday DIY Steel Dies.
What an adorable idea.
