A Pretty Card from Tanis

On your mark. Get set. Check this out!

Here is a card from Tanis Giesbrecht that I am pretty sure could brighten up the recipient's day, even if that day is one of those dark and cold Winter kind of days!

Pretty awesome card, huh?

I sure love how Tanis colored the flowers in with red and green markers. So simple and yet so pretty!

Tanis created this card with our Peony - Greenhouse Society stamp set.

The stamp set is on sale now and begins shipping around January 25th.

Story Card Sunday: The Best Happy

Hi all!

Woot! Woot! It's Story Card Sunday once again.

And I've got another pocket page friendly journaling card for you. Please give it up for this week's Story Card.

Keep in mind that while this week's Story Card would fit perfectly in a pocket style-style scrapbook page, it would also work well on a traditional scrapbook page or card!

Let me show you how to make one like it.

Start by die-cutting two bases from cardstock with the Story Card DIY Steel Die.

Set aside the white base for later.

Take the pink base and place the Straight Talk - Happy die onto it. Use a little decorative tape or Painter's tape to hold it in place. Run it through your die-cutting machine.

Once die-cut, use your scissors to snip off the ends of the card like so.

Adhere the pink panel to your white Story Card.

Stamp a few words above happy. (The ones I used are from Technique Tuesday's Everything Pocket Page stamp set.)

Stamp some journaling lines onto the base. (I stamped my lines with TT's Travel Log stamp set.)

Embellish the Story Card with sequins, gems or brads.

The end result should be something like this.

I'll be back next week with another Story Card for you! In the meantime, you can check out all of our previous Story Card Sunday projects by going here.

PS. Have you see our Straight Talk dies? In addition to our Straight Talk - Happy die, we also have Straight Talk - Hello and Straight Talk - Hugs. These dies work with our Say It - Hugs and Say It - Hello stamp sets.

Talk about pulling at an animal lover's heartstrings!

Check out this awesome scrapbook page Jaclyn Miller made with some of the newest Technique Tuesday stamps.

What a great tribute to Coda, one of her family's much-loved furry friends!

Jaclyn created some of the word elements with a couple new stamp sets from our Winter 2014 release: Classic Ali Edwards and Ali Arrows by Ali Edwards.

I love especially love how Jaclyn stamped the arrows and then stacked them here.

So cool!

Story Card Sunday: Take Note

Hooray! It's Story Card Sunday yet again!

And here is this week's Story Card!

Some of you may recall this Story Card from our Winter 2014 release count down. I thought it'd be fun to share with you this week how I made it.

Like many of the Story Cards we feature on Story Card Sunday, this one is pocket page friendly, but it also would work on a traditional scrapbook page or card!

So here's how I made it.

I started out by die-cutting a base from white cardstock with our Memo Pad Card DIY Steel Die.

I stamped the notebook paper image (from the College Ruled stamp set) on top with black ink.

Then I cut a label using the Label DIY Steel Die. I snipped some of the label off with my scissors and then stamped the words onto it. They, too, are from the College Ruled stamp set.

I finished the card off with a paper clip (also from the Memo Pad Card DIY Steel Die) and some jute!

Tune in next Sunday for another Story Card!

PS. Are you an electronic die-cutter? Many of our steel dies are available as digital cut files. Go here to see them all!

Home Sweet Home with Sharyn

Here's a clever and cool card from Sharyn Tormanen!

I think the house Sharyn created for this card is just about the coolest thing ever!

She stamped the sentiment (from the Home by Ali Edwards stamp set) on patterned paper. She fussy cut it. And then she fashioned a roof from red patterned paper. So clever!

You can find Home by Ali Edwards and all of the other new stamps and steel dies from our Winter 2014 release on the Technique Tuesday Web site! All of the Winter 2014 release items are available for pre-order now and start shipping in about two weeks.
