Story Card Sunday: Sequin Shaker

Hooray! Story Card Sunday is here again!

Scs_7_us2

Like all the Story Cards we show on Story Card Sunday, this one would look great in a pocket-style scrapbook page. But this one would also look swell on a traditional scrapbook page or card!

Here's how you can make one like it!

Scs_7_1Start by cutting a base card from white cardstock with our Story Card die. You'll also want to use the die to cut one card from vellum.

Scs_7_3Now, place the base card on your work table. Set sequins or confetti (or paper scraps) on it.

Put a tiny bit of adhesive on the edges of the vellum card. And then set the vellum on top of the base card. (The adhesive will help keep the two cards lined up for the next step.)

Scs_7_4Use a sewing machine to stitch the two cards together. (By the way, be careful to hold the cards level as you sew so you don't drop any of your sequins.) When finished, you should get something like this.

Scs_7_5Now, cut a circle and star with the Magic Circle Card die.

Scs_7_2You'll also want to die-cut a word. (I used the word "us", which is included with the Story Card die.)

Adhere the circle, star and word to your Story Card. To give it a little more pop, adhere a few sequins onto it as well. I find Glossy Accents works great for adhering these to vellum. Just be sure to let them sit for a few minutes so there's time for the Glossy Accents to dry.

Scs_7_6When finished, you should get something like this.

Scs_7_us2Ta-da!

Hope to see you again next weekend for another installment in our Story Card Sunday series.
