Keep Calm and Twinkle On...

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Technique Tuesday blog post for a cool card alert.

We pulled this classic gem of a card by Charlene Austin out of our vault of project inspiration to share with you today.

Charlene_TwinkleOnWise words for this time of year, don't you think? (Wink!)

Charlene created the perfect holiday card by mixing together felt gingerbread men with a sentiment from our retiring Twinkle On stamp set.

You can see all our retiring products (including Twinkle On) on the Progressive Sale page on our Web site.

And don't forget that the last week of our sale is early Black Friday, real Black Friday and Cyber Monday all rolled into one.

Coupon code LONGSHOT gets you a whopping 60% off our retiring products (which includes stamps, kits, inks and more)! This code is good through Dec. 2, 2013.

Such a "Tweet" Card!

You might say our retiring Birds & Bees stamp set is flying off the shelves. We have just a few of these stamp sets left.

Be sure to snatch it up before it is gone. (By the way, you can get the set for 60% off through 12/2 as part of our Progressive Sale. Just use coupon code LONGSHOT to get the discount on the set and all our other retiring products.)

I have to say that I have long loved this card Technique Tuesday Creative Team member Tobi Crawford made with the Birds & Bees set.

She created such a "tweet" little scene!

A Blast from the TT Project Vault Past

Have you snagged any of our retiring products yet?

This is the last week of our once-a-year Progressive Sale so I thought it'd be fun today to take a trip down Memory Lane and share some cool projects made with some of our retiring stamp sets.

I'm always so drawn to the pretty cards Tobi Crawford makes.

And I just love the fun scene Tobi created here with our retiring collection of Happyville stamp sets.

I always enjoy seeing Jaclyn Miller's cards, too. This card she made with our retiring Birds & Bees stamp set is one of my all-time favorite cards by her.

And wow! Check out this card Linda Barber made with our retiring Mom Seal. I love how she created her own background paper by stamping the seal multiple times with different ink colors.

And how fun is this card Ashley Harris made with our retiring Dig You stamp set?!

So sweet!

Story Card Sunday: Today Labels

Woot! It is time for another Story Card Sunday!

This week's Story Card will work in a pocket-style scrapbook page, but it would also look swell on a traditional scrapbook page or card. I think you will also find this one to be easy to make and easy to customize with papers and stamps of your own choosing.

So let me show you how to make one like it!

Start by cutting a base card from white cardstock with our Memo Pad Card DIY steel die. You'll also want to cut one from a patterned paper of your choice.

Cut off the top of the patterned paper piece and adhere it to the cardstock base like so.

Cut three labels with our Label DIY steel die from cardstock and patterned paper.

Adhere them onto your Story Card like so. Snip off the excess.

Stamp a sentiment onto the Story Card. I used a word from the Everyday Words by Ali Edwards stamp set, but be sure to pick a sentiment appropriate for your memory keeping or paper crafting project.

Now, it's time for the fun part! Use a piercing tool (or push pin) to poke a hole into the card like so.

Place a brad through the hole. Wrap some twine, floss or yarn around it like this.

Use a piece of decorative tape to hole adhere the twine ends to the back of the card.

And you are good to go! The end result should be something that looks like this.

Please join us again next week for another installment in our Story Card Sunday series! Next week's Story Card is going to involve getting messy. (Oh wait! I've said too much!) Hope to see you then!

Ps. Looking for the perfect gift for your crafty friends? Check our holiday gift bundles! These bundles (available through 12/14/13 or until they sell out) are 25% to 40% off.

A Chalkboard Christmas from Daniela

Sure, it's not even Thanksgiving yet.

And yes, Christmas is still a month away.

But that's OK. If you are like me and like to make your own Christmas cards, it's never too early to start thinking about making them and looking for inspiration!

I find myself really inspired by this pretty one by Daniela Dobson.

Merry Christmas by Daniela Dobson

The chalkboard look is so trendy right now, and I love how Daniela incorporated it in her design!

She got the look by cutting a Story Card base (with the Story Card DIY steel die) from cardstock and then painting it with black paint. She stamped on top with stamps from the Merry Christmas stamp set.

Well done, Daniela!

A Pretty Thank You Card from Shelley

If you have ever received an email from TT's Customer Care desk, you might recognize the name Shelley!

Shelley doesn't just make answer emails! She makes pretty cards, too.

And I sure love this card she made with our I Give Thanks stamp set.

Shelley_GratefulLeavesAnd check out how she made the leaves! She die-cut the leaves with our I Give Thanks steel die from patterned paper, stamped on top and then folded them to give them some extra dimension. How neat!

And, boy, do I like white paper panel she stamped on. She cut that with our Memo Pad Card steel die.

Nice card, Shelley!

Quick Die-cutting Trick: Make a Double-Cut Banner

Here's a quick and fun trick for all you die-cutting fans out there!

Die-cut a large banner using our Banners DIY steel die. Set the "hello" word from our Say It - Hello steel die  on top of the banner. Use a little bit of tape to anchor it in place.

Run it through your die-cutting machine, and ta-da! The end result: A double-cut banner that's ready to use on your next memory keeping project!
