Story Card Sunday: Sweet Little One
Happy Halloween!

Meet the amazing...

Teri AndersonToday I am really excited to introduce the creative, the oh-so-cool, and the amazing... Teri Anderson! When you initially meet Teri, you might think she is quiet but she has so much to say. Sometimes what she says is unbelievably funny and irreverent. Yet at other times, her words are so very wise. Her paper crafting style ranges from quirky to classic. She makes traditional layouts, cards, and pocket-style pages too. Plus she designs amazing stamp sets that manage to be clever, playful, and very usable all at the same time. Since I can't seem to find words that capture the essence of Teri, I decided to add a couple pictures and ask Teri to share a little more about who she is. Take it away, Teri!

How did you start crafting?

My mom always kept a scrapbook when I was a kid. (Think photo album with pictures and trinkets taped in it!) I started keeping my own scrapbook when I was in high school. After college, I got a job and moved to a town in another state where I knew nobody but many people there scrapbooked. So I really got into scrapbooking then as a way to get to know people and to give me something to do outside of work. I liked it, made some awesome friends (who are still dear to me to this day) and got into making cards and other paper crafts!

What type of music do you listen to when you are crafting?

I love music! Besides crafting, going to concerts is another love of mine so I listen to a lot of music! I’m pretty eclectic in my tastes and listen to about everything from rock to country. On my “most frequently played” playlist right now are songs from: Goo Goo Dolls; Toby Keith; John Mayer; Ben Folds; Journey; Heart; Pearl Jam; Taylor Swift and Sheryl Crow.

What are some of your favorite paper crafting techniques?

Does good old direct to paper stamping count? Because I really love inking up a stamp and stamping it on paper.

I’ve also been having lots of fun lately inking more solid stamps (like the ones in Chevrons Two Step), misting them with water and then stamping them on paper. I love the artistic look it creates.

I’ve also been enjoying making backgrounds with watercolor crayons. I scribble a few crayons on watercolor paper and then spread the color with a waterbrush. I let it dry and then stamp on top with black ink.

Favorite stamps?

My current favorites would have to be: I Give Thanks; Thumbs Up by Ali; Wildflowers and Fill in the Blank. But picking a favorite Technique Tuesday stamp set is like picking a favorite child. Hard! I think my favorite stamp sets change with each stamp release. There’s always some new set that makes my heart go pitter patter!

I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about Teri. Everyone at Technique Tuesday, especially me, thoroughly enjoys working with her! If you would like to win one of Teri's stamp sets, here is your chance. Leave a comment here by midnight EST on Nov. 1st. Tell us which of Teri's designs is your very favorite. (You can see all of Teri's stamp sets on our website.) We'll announce four lucky winners here on our blog on Nov. 3rd.

All of Terri's stamps are awesome, but I must say, the set "I Like You" caught my eye.

I love the DUDE stamp set, great for making Guy cards. I love the KEEP CALM sets. Just can't decide which to pick.

The Happyville Collection is adorable. I like the house one. Thanks for a chance to win.

Love Teri's work and the set I like is "I like you"

Love your stamps! They are so versatile and fun!

Nice to meet Teri! It is always fun to learn more about the crafty people that we follow.

I really like Teri's clean, simple style. I did not realize how many of her stamps I own! I would love to add "Turn 29" to my collection. Thanks.

Good to snow...I'm getting ready for Christmas.

I luv all her stamps, luv the simplicity of each one but if I have to pick a favorite one I would hace to say "say cheese". Don't have it yet but I will soon.

I like the versatility of BRIGHT IDEA!!!! From one Terri to another.... Your awesome!

Picking only one of Teri's stamp sets is like picking only one of her projects to be your favorite, and that my friend would be just ghastly! But for the sake of your asking I would have to say "Say Cheese" would be mine at the moment. I just fits what I am working on at the moment.

My favorite stamp set would be "Be Jolly" as I am always on the lookout for neat Christmas stamps. But I think all of the Happyville stamps sets are awesome.

I love "I like you" and "Puffed Hearts". These are two of the stamps I love but it is ver hard to chose. I would agree that stamps make crafting great!

Stamps and scrapbooking go together so well, I like your layouts more traditional, but still modern and up to date.

They are all so cute, but I will, "Say Cheese" is my favorite !

Be Jolly! is my favorite set! I really like all of Teri's stamp sets but this is the one I like best and would use all of them the most.

Teri is very talented and she is a great addition to the Technique Tuesday team. She loves Chevrons just like me!

Good to Snow is my absolute favorite!!

Nice to meet you Terri, it is always nice to read about like minded people. One of my favourite of your stamps is Banner Up, so many uses/colours/patterns. I found Technique Tuesday just a few months ago and love what I see. Spoiled for choice. Thanks so much!!

Teri...Love your stamps! You are very talented!!

I really enjoyed learning about Teri, it is nice to see the 'person' behind all the creative work. My favorite of her designs is "In a Nutshell". It has been on my wishlist for a long time. Thanks for the chance to win.

What a great post--I enjoy Teri's blog and seeing what new idea or technique she has to share. Thanks!

Wow, Teri is a well established designer!!! Teri's style is very vogue.... i think i have 2 favorites, Good to Snow and I like you. Each stamp set is very interesting.

Lovely idea to introduce your staff. Nice to get to know you Teri. The set I like the best is " Get Crafty". Thanks for the chance to win. : )

So nice to read about Teri Anderson. She has so many likes. Can't wait to check out her website. It was like reading about a friend.

Love Teri's fun, modern style! I like so many of her stamps, but I guess my fave is her Say Cheese set, because I am a Disney Vacation Club member and scrap LOTS of Disney pages where those stamps would be perfect! Say Cheese would also be great with any travel pages or the everyday pocket pages I make. So very glad to ''meet' you today, Teri!

I love the clean design and the great use of many of the sets. Thanks for the opportunity.

Wow, welcome Teri. Your stamps are wonderful. I have to agree that depending on what project I am working on would depend on which stamp I like the most at the time. Such wonderful ideas. I think I could really enjoy Fill in the Blank...or maybe...Get Eat Chocolate. Hard to decide, really like them all. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

My favorite stamp set is Say Cheese!

Well I couldn't just pick one, no matter how hard I tried. I love the Get Crafty because of all the little things that would be perfect for stamping and I adore Happyville Home. The houses are so cute and again, would look great on cards. So I can't just pick one, I had to go with two, sorry, I've always been one that bent the rules just a tad!!! LOL

This is hard, but I think "Be Jolly" gets my top vote.

Say Cheese would be fun to play with.

Oh my goodness, how to choose?! I love 'Be Jolly', 'With Flair', 'Noted' and 'Say Cheese'. But also 'I Like You', 'Awesome' and 'Bright Idea'. Do I really have to choose a favourite? OK, I'll pick 'Awesome' because I have three awesome sons and this would work so well with pages about, and cards for, them. Thanks so much for the chance to win.

Easy. With flair. Such a practical set for a circle lover.

Teri Anderson really has talent! Love the cards and scrapbook pages that are shown. Nice work!

Teri, you're so talented! I love the variety in your stamp designs. I just ordered Happyville- Home. Good to Snow is my favorite!
