An Irresistible Resist Technique from Daniela
This is Daniela, and I’m going to show you a fun technique today: Resist with heat-embossing and watercolor crayons.
And rather than using paper, I wanted to try something different so I’m using canvas I found at a local craft store. It has a bit of texture but I have had no problems heat embossing on it.
The supplies from Technique Tuesday that I am using to pull off this technique are:
- Passion For Polka stamp set
- This Life by Ali Edwards stamp set
- Bring on the Love by Ali Edwards stamp set
- Watercolor Crayons – Yellow 010, Yellow green 230, Turquoise 191, Purple 090
Let’s get started.
Stamp polka dots from Passion for Polka stamp set on canvas with VersaMark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
Using watercolor crayons, scribble over the embossed images with four different colors. Leave white space between each color. Using a water brush, spread the colors with water. Let the colors dry. Gently wipe over the embossed areas using a paper towel.
Die cut a heart and use it on a card.
I used a negative from the die cut as an embellishment for the card. I used watercolor crayon to paint the sentiment stamp and stamp it on cardstock.
Looks like fun. Can't wait to try it out.
