Rockin' the Faux Metal Technique with Kris

Kris here.

Today I am showing you the Faux Metal Technique using my All Aboard set from Technique Tuesday.

First, apply Versamark ink to a small piece of cardstock.

Then, completely cover it with metallic embossing powder. Heat embossing powder with heat gun. Repeat until you have at least 4-5 layers of embossing powder.

Once you have 4-5 layers of embossing powder, you want to heat the powder again until hot. While still hot, stamp image using StazOn ink into the powder, pressing very firmly. You will need to do this quickly, before the powder cools.

At this point, you can use the image whole, as I did, or you could trim around the image for a "faux metal" embellishment.

Here's a close up of my image.

Here it is on a card.

I also used the Vino and Measure Up sets.

This card uses the same Faux Metal technique.

Happy stamping!

OH my word, that's SO COOL! What great guy cards, Kris :)

Kris: That is sooooo cool. I never realized that you could use polymer stamps that way. I was afraid they'd melt!!!

I love both of your cards. They're fabulous!

great technique!

Very cool!!

Thanks for sharing this technique. I will have to purchase some metallic embossing powder and try this for myself. Stunning cards.
