A Decorative Centerpiece from Judie
I usually put the walnuts in a large hurricane glass container and use it for a centerpiece in my home.
While walking through the field picking up walnuts, I decided to go in a different direction this year for decoration.
I wanted a more natural, warm feel for this year's centerpiece so I decided to get some duck cloth and make a bowl for my walnuts.
I LOVE the Give Thanks by Ali Edwards stamp set so I used that set to stamp the words on my bowl.
I also wanted to stamp a big pumpkin on my bowl, but I didn’t have one so I used the parenthesis in my retired but still loved Functuation stamp set from Technique Tuesday. I changed the shape by stretching it out when putting it on the clear block.
I also used the retired Loopy Labels stamp set on my bowl. I wanted them to stand out a little more so I stamped the labels on a light tan color, and then I stamped the words from the Give Thanks. I stamped some of the small pumpkins on the duck cloth and cut them out and sprayed them with Mist.
I adhered everything on the bowl with Zip Dry.
When finished, I stitched up my bowl. I created a round bottom and then stitched it to the fabric panel I stamped and adhered images to. I sewed the seam up, turned the bowl right side out and filled it with walnuts.
I really like the "down home" feel this bowl will give my house this year.
