Create Dry Embossed Backgrounds with Kris

Hi everyone!

This is Kris, and I am excited to share a project with you today!

I am going to show you how to use Technique Tuesday's watercolor crayons with an embossing folder to create a neat background.

Start by coloring one side of the inside of an embossing folder with a Technique Tuesday watercolor crayon.

Spray it with water.

Your folder should get pretty wet.

Place a piece of cardstock in your folder. Run it through a diecutting machine. Remove the paper from the folder and allow it to dry thoroughly.

I used my background to make this card.

The snowman and sentiment is from one of Technique Tuesday's new Printables, which Technique Tuesday sells at conventions and will have on their Web site soon.

Happy creating!

Say Hello to the October Studio AE Stamp Set

It's October, which means it is time to reveal our new Studio AE stamp set.

The set begins shipping to Studio AE members on the 10th. The set is also available for a limited time to non-Studio AE members through our Web site and at select retailers.

Our Studio AE team has been inspired by this new stamp set.

Here is a peek of a card Laura O'Donnell made with it.

You can see the whole card on her blog.

You can also find projects made with the new stamp set on the blogs of Sharyn Tormanen, Daniela Dobson and Teri Anderson.

Joining the Studio AE team as October's Studio AE guest is Heidi Van Laar.

Heidi Portrait 1

Hi I'm Heidi! I am a paper crafting Junkie and stay at home mom from Southern Washington. I have been papercrafting in some form or another for as long as I can remember. Once apon a time I worked as a graphic designer, but after having my boys, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom and my artistic outlet became scrapbooking, which later morphed into card making. I have been lucky enough to have had several of my cards published by Cards and Paper Crafts magazines. Thanks to this fabulous hobby, I have had so many wonderful opportunities, and met some of the most amazing people!

Watch her blog to see what she works up this month with the new stamp set. Heidi will also be joining us on the 10th for our monthly Studio AE blog hop.

Have you made something yet with your Studio AE stamp sets?

Time is running out to take a picture of it and enter it in our Share Your Story contest.

You have until Wednesday (Oct. 5th) to enter the contest.

Up for grabs are $100 and $25 gift certificates for and stamp sets!

We've got some inspiration for you, just in case you are just getting going on a project.

Studio AE team member Jaime Warren made this mini book with September's Family Is by Ali Edwards stamp set.

We hope you will Share Your Story with us!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hooray! It's World Card Making Day!

We love this day because it celebrates the joy of making cards.

We thought it would  be fun today to share a few cards some of our Stamping Techs have worked up lately.

We just love this Winter card Charlene Austin made with our Good Cheer by Ali Edwards stamp set.

This would be such a fun card to mass produce for the holidays.

And check out this one that Jaclyn Miller used our Simply You by Ali Edwards stamp set on.

Is that flower cool or what?!

This card from Sharyn Tormanen made us smile.

The rocket and words are from our Out of This World stamp set.

And look at this card set that Kris Chirhart whipped up with our Swanky Sentiments, Verbose and Growing Wild sets.

This card from Tobi Crawford is sure a lot of fun, too.

The Celebrate sentiment is from our Kids Are Cool by Ali Edwards stamp set.

We hope you get the chance to make some cards today!

If you are looking for a creative boost to make some cards long after World Card Making Day, check out the Sale page on our Web site. We've got three Technique Tuesday card kits on sale for 25 percent off.
