Shadow Stamping with Watercolor Crayons
Hi everyone!
If you have stamped very long, you have probably heard of shadow stamping. But did you know you can shadow stamp with a stamping block and Technique Tuesday's new watercolor crayons?
It's super fun and way easy!
Let me show you how.
To pull of this technique, you are going to need:
* A spritzing bottle filled with water
* Cardstock
And here's what you do:
1. Scribble the watercolor crayon all over your stamping block. Be generous with the color and lay down a lot of it.
2. Spritz or mist the block with water. I squirted it two to three times.
3. Press your stamping block firmly (crayon colored side down) onto a panel of cardstock. (Just in case you are wondering, I'm just using inexpensive, basic white cardstock here. Watercolor paper works well, too.)
4. Remove the block. And ta-da! You have a cool shadow background to stamp on once the color is dry.
I made all of these background with this shadow stamping technique.
And I made this little set of cards with technique.
I simply mounted the backgrounds to cards made from cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Loving Words by Ali Edwards stamp set on each one. Then, I finished them off by coloring in some of the letters with crayons and adding gems.
If you try this technique, I'd love to see your results!
These are gorgeous! Thanks for the tutorial! :)

This would be really cool on a grid style scrapbook layout. Blues and greens for the beach; hmm. The possibilities. Can't wait to get started.

This is fantastic! I wasn't much liking the results when using a stamping pad and the clear block. With this watercolor crayons you have better control over the shadow.
