Something for New Year's Eve

Here's a fun way to spruce up a bottle of sparkling cider, wine or champagne for your New Year's Eve celebration: Add a festive tag to it.

A project from TechniqueTuesday.comThis was tag came together in just a few minutes.

I cut a 3" x 6" piece of cardstock. I rounded the corners and scored a line about 2 1/2" down from the top.

A project from Technique Tuesday

I used Technique Tuesday's Circles steel dies to cut a hole out of the top of the tag. And then I used the Good Times - Fresh Cut Studio dies to create the clock face. I layered the clock on top of a circle cut from gold paper with the Circles dies.

A project from TechniqueTuesday.com

I just love that gold + black + white combination! It's perfect for New Year's!

The sentiment was created with the help of the Say It - Happy stamp set

Say It - Happy clear stamp set from Technique Tuesday

This stamp set is one of my go-to stamp sets because it covers a lot of different occasions. Love that!

Wishing you a safe and happy New Year's Eve,

Story Card Sunday: The Best Week

Hello again!

I'm back with another installment in our Story Card Sunday series.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

This pocket page-friendly Story Card was fun to make with Technique Tuesday's clear stamps and steel dies. Let me give you the scoop on how you can make one like it.

Start by cutting four base cards with the Story Card steel dies. You'll also want to cut one medium star with the Nested Stars steel dies

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

Die-cut a circle with the Circles dies out one of the base cards like so.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

Set that card on top of a second base card. Set the medium star die on it and run the cards through your manual die-cutting machine.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

You'll get something like this.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

Set a third card under the die-cut base cards. Set the small star from the Nested Stars dies onto it like so.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

Run the cards through your die-cut machine and you'll end up with something like this.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

Set the fourth card under all the cards. Adhere all the base cards together.

Place the circle you cut from the first card over the cut-out circle. Spritz some mist onto the Story Card.

A Story Card Sunday tutorial from Technique Tuesday

Remove the circle and stamp a sentiment onto the card. The one I used is from the Everything Pocket Page stamp set

Finish the Story card off by adhering a die-cut card and gem or pearl to it.

And there you have it! I'll be back again next week with another Story Card. Hope to see you then!

Time for Something Tree-mendous

Hi friends!

Looking for a last minute gift for a friend? Check out this little tree I put together the other day.

2_TT_HeartTree_teri

It was tree-mendously fun to make! Get it? Wink!

Seriously, I think this little tree would fun to give to a friend or co-worker as a small Christmas gift.

The tree was so easy to make. I cut two hearts with Technique Tuesday's Nested Hearts steel dies and adhered them together.

TT_tree_1

I then added a small heart (also cut with the Nested Hearts dies) and a small star (cut with TT's Nested Stars steel dies).

TT_Tree_2

I flipped the tree over and then adhered a toothpick to it.

TT_tree_3

Because I didn't want anyone to see my tape, I cut two more hearts and used foam tape to place them over it.

TT_tree_4

The base of my tree is a chunk of wood I found at a big box craft store. I glued a little piece of cork onto and then stuck the tree inside it.

Tt_tree_5

To finish my tree off, I added a little texture paste and glitter to the base. I also tied a bow toward the bottom of the tree and placed some enamel dots on the tree.

TT_tree_6

If you didn't want to use enamel dots, gems or pearls would also work.

Story Card Sunday: Me + You

Hi everyone!

It's Story Card Sunday once again so please give it up for this week's Story Card.

2_SCS_62_perfectLike many of the Story Cards we feature, this one is pocket page-friendly! It would also look swell on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card.

Let me show you how to make one like it.

Start by cutting two base cards with the Story Card steel dies. Cut eight banners with the banner die, which is included with the Story Card dies

Scs_62_1

Adhere six of the banners to one of the base cards like so.

Scs_62_2

Take the remaining banners and place them over the middle banners like so.

Scs_62_3

Trim the excess off the banners. Trim the bottom of the base card.

Scs_62_4

Adhere the banners to the other base card. Poke holes through the card and then sew a line of floss or twine through them.

Scs_62_5

Finish the Story Card off by stamping a sentiment onto it. The one I used is from Technique Tuesday's Cloud 9 stamp set

Technique-Tuesday-Cloud-9-Clear-Stamps-Medium

So there you have it!

I'll be back again next week with another installment in our Story Card Sunday series.

Season's Greetings from Jaclyn

Hello again, Technique Tuesday fans!

Christmas is so close! Still trying to put together some holiday cards?

Jaclyn Miller has your back. Check out this inspiring card she put together!

Remixsherri_seasongreet

Is it fun and festive or what?!

Jaclyn created the base for all those flags with our Flair Maker steel dies. She then stamped the patterns on top with the Little Banners stamp set.

Technique-Tuesday-Little-Banners-Clear-Stamps-Medium

I sure love how Jaclyn added a stitchmark at the top of each banner. It makes it look like the banners are just hanging off the card. Love that!

And the sentiment from the Christmas Cheer stamp set is the perfect phrase for this card. I sure like how Jaclyn stamped one word in blue and then stamped the second word over the top with black ink.

Technique-Tuesday-Christmas-Cheer-Clear-Stamps-Medium

Nice work, Jaclyn!

A Jar of Holiday Treats for Someone Sweet

Hi all!

Teri here, and I've got a fun holiday gift idea for you today.

Fill a jar with holiday treats and then tie on a super cute tag!

2_TT_JollySnowmanJar1_teri

Hee! So I might be a little biased on that super cute tag thing! Wink

But can you believe I made the tag for my treat jar with Technique Tuesday's steel dies and clear stamps? It was easy.

I created the tag base with the Story Card steel dies. And then I made the snowman by cutting a couple circles with Circles dies, a heart with the Nested Hearts dies and some red scarf pieces with the banner from the Story Card dies. I also freehand cut a triangle to serve as the snowman's carrot nose and a couple strips of paper to make the snowman's hat brim and arms.

TT_Jar1_teri

I cut the green circle in half. I placed it on top of the snowman's head and then added a strip of white cardstock that I drew some black marks on.

TT_Jar2_teri

I drew a face, added the nose and then adhered the head to the scarf pieces and the body (aka: the larger circle). I fashioned a couple arms for my snowman with the strip of kraft cardstock.

TT_Jar3_teri

I finished him off with a couple enamel dots and wiggle eyes. I also hung the heart off one of his arms.

After that, I added my snowman to my base card. I popped a hole in the top of it and then stamped a sentiment.

You might be wondering about the words I used on my tag? They are from the Merry Day stamp set. I think so many phrases in the set would have worked good on this tag.

Technique-Tuesday-Merry-Day-Clear-Stamps-Medium

I also added a few pom poms to look like snow is falling down.

2_TT_JollySnowmanJar2_teri Fun, huh?
