Sneak Peek. Sneak Peek! SNEAK PEEK!

This just in. It looks like our secret poster has once again been sharing Technique Tuesday secrets.

Oh yes. She struck again. And she's been sharing some sneak peeks of a new clear stamp set we'll be revealing really soon.

We spied this one over on Instagram!

And then she shared this one

Oh brother! That sneaky, sneaky poster! It's sure hard keeping a secret around here with her around.

Be sure to watch the Technique Tuesday newsletter for the official reveal of this new stamp set. And keep an eye on our Facebook page for more sneak peeks. There is little doubt around here that that sneaky poster will strike again. Gosh, someone is going to have to talk to her about her sneak peeking ways.

Getting the DIY Party Look: Tissue Paper Flowers

Teri here, and I am so happy to see you again today.

I think one of the neatest decorations from my DIY Party were the tissue paper flowers I made.

I made a few dozen pink flowers to decorate the party table, the room and even the party banner.

2_TT_SpringParty_Banner2_teri

These were really easy to make, thanks to Technique Tuesday's Circles DIY Steel Dies.

I piled up a stack of tissue paper (about 8 sheets worth) and ran them through my die-cutting machine with a circle die.

Flowers_1_teri

I stapled the circles with a stapler so they'd stay together. I crinkled them up with my fingers and then uncrinkled them, seperating one sheet of tissue paper from the next.

Flowers_3_teri

I think they kind of look like rosebuds.

Then I placed a glob of glue onto a piece of scratch paper and dipped the flowers in it. Then I dipped them into a pile of glitter.

The end result was something like this.

The cool thing is each one looked a little different. I also loved that I could place them anywhere I just wanted to add a pop of color, even on some on the party table.

Getting the DIY Party Look: Customized Straws

Hi again!

I showed you my DIY Party on Monday. I want to show you today how I took plain old paper straws and turned them into something special for the party!

The supplies I used were:

And here's the how-to.

Start by die-cutting a number of label shapes from cardstock and patterned paper.

Straws1_teri

Take a sentiment stamp and ink it up. (Hint: If you only want to use a portion of the stamp, cover part of the stamp with tape before you ink the stamp. Once you've inked up the stamp, remove the tape and stamp.)

Straws_2_teri

Straws_3_teri

Stamp the sentiment.

Wrap a stamped label and a patterned paper label around the straw.  Staple the labels in place.

Straws_4_teri

The end result will be something that looks like these!

Straws_5_teri

Fun, huh?

And just in case you are wondering, here's how these straws looked on my party table. I tucked all of my straws in a small jar.

Tune in tomorrow and I'll show you how I created the tissue paper flowers I used to decorate the table and the party banner with Technique Tuesday DIY Steel Dies.

You're Invited to a DIY Party

Truth: I love entertaining.

Whenever I have friends over, I always get a kick out of giving them a personalized gift to make their visit a little more friendly. Whether I tie a stamped tag onto a bag of candy or fill a jar of treats and then decorate the jar with die-cuts, those handmade touches always seem to impress them.

I recently took things to a new level when I created an entire partyscape with Technique Tuesday clear stamps and DIY Steel Dies. I'd like to invite you today to take a look at some the decorations and customized treats I made for the party.

Spring Party Image

One of my favorite things from the party are these cute water bottles.

2_TT_SpringParty_Bottles2_teri

They were really easy to customize. I simply removed their labels and then wrapped patterned paper around them. I die-cut circles with Technique Tuesday's Circles DIY Steel Dies and then stamped on top with flowers from the Grow Happy by Lori Vliegen stamp set.

The little metal stand is a place setting card I found at the local party supply store. I die-cut a rectangle card with Technique Tuesday's Story Card DIY Steel Dies and then stamped the sentiment from the Bring on the Sun by Ali Edwards stamp set on top. It just seemed like a great phrase for a party!

I decorated straws with labels and stamped words and filled small plastic containers with Sunflower seeds. (Because you gotta have something somewhat healthy at a party, right?)

2_TT_SpringParty_OverviewSection_teri

2_TT_SpringParty_Treats_teri

Each plastic treat container (found at the dollar store) is decorated with a sentiment from the Labels by Ali Edwards stamp set. You might be wondering about that pink puffball on the plate here? Well, that's a flower I made with tissue paper and Technique Tuesday's Circle dies. I made few dozen of them to decorate the room and the party table. (Come back to the blog on Wednesday and I'll show you can make some like them.)

Finally, I filled a jar with chocolate because, gosh, what's a party without chocolate?! I created the little decorative stake for it by stamping the flower design on it Petal Power stamp set, coloring it in with pencils and then mounting it to a straw. The words? They too are from the Bring on the Sun by Ali Edwards stamp set.

2_TT_SpringParty_chocolate2_teri

The last thing I did for this party ensemble was to create the banner. I didn't want my banner to be too big so I cut only a couple panels with the Story Card die. You'll notice I added some of my tissue paper flowers to it. I also stamped on a few die-cut labels with Technique Tuesday's I Like You stamp set.

2_TT_SpringParty_Banner1_teri

Tune in tomorrow and I'll show you how I made some customized straws for the party guests.

Story Card Sunday: Love This

Hi everyone!

It's Story Card Sunday once again, and I'm delighted to bring you one more Story Card.

Technique-Tuesday-This-Love-Card-Medium

This week's Story Card, designed by Technique Tuesday's Bev Grey, is pocket page-friendly but it would also work on a traditional scrapbook page or greeting card.

To make one like it, cut a base card from blue cardstock using our Story Card DIY Steel Dies.

Technique-Tuesday-DIY-Steel-Die-Story-Card-Medium

Then cut a frame from patterned paper with our Classic Label Card DIY Steel Dies.

Technique-Tuesday-DIY-Steel-Die-Classic-Label-Card-Medium (1)

Adhere the frame onto the card. Fold it over the top.

Stamp on top with a sentiment. Bev used words from the Classic Ali Edwards stamp set.

Embellish the card with a few additional die-cuts. She cut the heart with our Home Circle Card DIY Steel Dies, while the arrows came from our  That Arrow Card DIY Steel Dies.

We'll be back again next week with another Story Card! Hope to see you then!
