Try the Faux Silk technique with Kris

Kris here. I am sharing another "faux" technique today. Last time I was here, I shared the Faux Metal technique.  

Today I will show you how to do the Faux Silk technique with the Vino set from Technique Tuesday. I'll also use the label frame from Swanky Sentiments.

The first step is to stamp your image onto tissue paper. I used a cream color to give my project a warmer look than white tissue paper would have.

Randomly stamp the image. You'll notice I used a larger piece of tissue paper than I needed so that I could decide later what part of it I liked best.

The next step is to crinkle up your tissue paper.

Now you want to evenly apply a thin layer of glue to a piece of cardstock. A glue stick works great.

Now you want to carefully place the tissue paper onto the cardstock. Be careful not to smooth the tissue paper out too much. You want the crinkles to show! From this point, I watercolored the images simply with water and ink.

And now it's time to finish card. After coloring the images, I used a light color distress ink to accent the crinkles even more. I also inked the edges of the image panel.

I just finished trying this out. Wow, do I have a beautiful piece to use for a background. I didn't have any off white, so I used a piece of gold tissue and I used Claudine Helmuth matte to glue it to the cardstock. I wanted it flatter, so I gently rolled it with my brayer. When a little dry, I used TH Vintage Photo randomly and then wiped it off, leaving ink in the crackles. It really does look like raw silk! Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
